You know I am aware of that, which is why I am all the more curious about why people who tease me about my supposed assholeness seem to genuinely complain about my being an asshole... without being explicit about what exactly makes me appear so to their eyes.
It's like when people would find nasty, disgusting, and then, upon inquiry, you find it is not that he is smelly, but "smells too good", "dresses too well", "has too much good taste for his own good", "his favorite color is red", "likes seafood"...
In short, curious about where that apparent sound common point is coming from, and whether the fact that it is such a well-shared opinion does not makes it actually more shallow and less strong than the first strong impression of apparent unanimity might led one to assume.
