Why is everyone so fascinated about Windows Vista®?

Windows desktop search before becoming standalone was released with MSN tools or something.. And its release was may 16 2005. So that's the earliest trace of Windows desktop search. And, look, Spotlight with tiger Official release is April 29th 2006! And when there's a new OS there's always Beta stage. So, it has existed a long time before. And working.

Some Vista technologies, such as Windows Desktop Search, were released as free add-ons to Windows XP before their inclusion in shipping versions of Mac OS X.

this is where i read it hey maybe its wrong

I looked though the summary of the fixes and none of them were relevant to me, none of them were security related and none related to anything that I do day to day. they were all either hardware specific or referred to software I don't use. But as with any software it is by no means perfect. I just reiterate that the mac enables me to do what I want to with minimum pain. I was so used to windows and sorting out its problems over the years that I became blind to the mac. but now, with the intel processors and the choices it gives me, I am converted. Believe me, I was once a macophobe, but that has changed as it has evolved and at least it does evolve, while windows really doesn't.

I'd call it an improvement rather than fixes. I don't notice any bugs or anything disfunctional. They release these updates and patches because they know they can improve the experience by making something existent in this current version better. Let's say for example : Roundness of windows and better rendering..

And yes hardware too they just release these patches to improve it. Not that anything wasn't working or making anything seize up.

But after the update, you know everything's better.
