Medicinal marijuana is legal here in California. I'm glad that I've lived long enough to see legalization happen. Since I first began enjoying it in 1970, I've felt that it's an injustice to make it illegal. It never stopped me though; I made my own morality. Thousands of young people were jailed for pot use years ago. It sickened me every time I heard about a case of an otherwise law abiding, respectable person who was thrown in the slammer for pot. Idiot politicians and the stupid war against drugs. All it did was teach people to disrespect the law and to ignore the laws that they don't want to follow.

MJ, like many other pleasures, is fine if you use common sense and moderation. Having 3 or 4 bong loads after work is no big deal. I work out at the gym, cycle, and lead a healthy lifestyle. I work in finance and have a sharp mentality. The people who say it will mess you up and you'll be a loser burnout are referring to the typical stoner stereotype. All of my friends are successful professionals who like to get a buzz from herb.

I know several people who puff -- never more than one or two. One does it to calm chronic jitters when he needs to be steady, another to take the edge off pain, another to calm racing thoughts, and another, who has a metabolism crazy enough that he can eat twice what I do and stay at 125 pounds (six feet tall, too), to give himself the munchies to keep his weight up.

It's the ones who can't imagine anything less than an entire pipe full at once who are trouble.

Which is why I may seek a medical card -- to have it for pain would be nice, but I could never quite decide to go for the card, but if it will help the anxiety as well, it's worth the effort.
