Why isn't gay marriage legal?

Wait... God created man and....oh that's right, WOMAN--i'm not saying that homosexuals cannot have relationships, but getting married destroys the purpose of male and female. Sure, you can adopt an orphaned child, but no matter how you look at it, the child will never be your actual child.

If I decided to adopt a child, they would be my actual child.

Our species does indeed have 2 genders, thank you for pointing that out. Your federal government does not have a state religion, in fact the legal basis of your country prohibits that. It is wrong to impose your religious beliefs on others. It is also against your country's constitution.

If you believe your god prohibits gays, who cares... thats your belief. I disagree with you, I grew up a christian and I do not believe homosexuality is condemned by God... but whatever thats my belief and it has nothing to do with you. The point is that we have our different beliefs, but we should not and cannot impose our beliefs on others. I cant tell you that you should wear pink every day, and you cant tell me I cant marry the man I love and raise the child I adopt as my own.

Yeah, but I know I would feel nothing but guilt in knowing that I never procreated. I'm not going to argue anymore, gay marriage is wrong and that's all I have to say on the subject. I do have a feeling that it will be legalized more and more, and as long as there are homosexuals, the marriages will continue. I'm not trying to stop gay marriage here, I'm just simply pointing out that I think making a family is the purpose of marriage, and the majority of America believes the same thing. No matter how you look at it, the majority ALWAYS has the upper hand.

I suppose I should throw a nod towards the overpopulation problem, the world really isn't needing more babies if babies are being born every day. And really, who is it hurting besides people who believe that people aren't born equal?

The best way to deal with trolls is to appear to take them 100% seriously, and not lose your temper with them. They get bored so fast!
Though I've seen homophobia in other places on this board...Its really kinda strange when you think about it.

He wasn't preaching hate, he was parroting what many of us have already heard and hear everyday here in America.

Most gay couples are based mostly on lust anyway, and don't deny it. A man and a woman marrying is completely different from 2 men marrying

I guess I dont have the patience for close minded people that the rest of the gay community has. People who hold the opinions he holds are holding back gay rights and driving up the suicide rate of gay teens. I dont have patience for being told that gay people like me generally arent capable of loving relationships. I dont have the patience for being told that I should not have equal rights.

Actually I'm digging the fact that your profile says that you're 19 and you're this passionate about this!

However, as a Moderator this forum must be open to differing opinions.

The original poster of this thread asked a question, he got an answer. It's the same answer that many of our parents, clergy, and in some states here in America give. We don't have to like it, and IMO shouldn't be sheltered from it.

You do realize that makes you as bad if not worse than the people you hate, right?
Intolerance should not be tolerated, I can agree with you there. But, as the classic line goes, "Why lower yourself down to their level?"
I suppose its just the "should just die" comment that gets me though...
