Yea,and Bill Cullen too.I loved the challenge, especially of those contestants who weren't well known,to quickly get to the answer.Thinking on your feet and taking unexpected twists...I love games where getting to the answer was the most fun, even as the viewing audience knew the identity.ah!! whats my line..now that was a great show...i loved dorothy and arlene
I remember Jack Barry and "the Joker's Wild"....Garry Moore and "To Tell The Truth"!"/...Bert Convy and "Tattletales",Chuck Woolery hosting the original "Wheel of Fortune".....Jim Lange and "The Dating Game".....Bob Eubanks and "The Newlywed Game".....Chuck Barris and "The Gong Show"....Allen Ludden and "Password"(he was married to great comedienne and game show regular Betty White)....Alex Trebek hosting "The Wizard of Odds" AND "Concentration"!Bob Barker doing "Truth or Consequences"....Richard Dawson in "Masquerade Party!"Did Tom Kennedy do "Name That Tune'?!OMG! Match Game was the best! I thought Gene Rayburn (may he rest in peace) was the best host! And where are you going to find regular panelists like Bret Somers Klugman, Fannie Flagg, Charles Nelson Reilly, and Richard Dawson? It always rocked!
Speaking of game show hosts, who remembers Wink Martindale, Jack Barry, Jim Perry, Garry Moore, Tom Kennedy, Bert Convy, Geoff Edwards, Chuck Woolery, Jim Lange. Bob Eubanks, Chuck Barris, Allen Ludden, and Bill Cullen?
They were all contemporaries of the current legendary titans of game shows, Bob Barker, Alex Trebek, Pat Sajack, and Vanna White!
"I'll take Musketeer Sex Rituals for a thousand, Alex....."
Now you tell me!no.. the goats always behind door 2
Come all this way to look like a doofus to get enough attention Monty would call on me....should have kept the $500 in that tin can....remember how they counted each hundred with great excitement!you shouldve kept the altoid tin filled with cash
At least you've got the Game Show Channel....I remember all this stuff the first time they aired!aw, it was great...
I guess that's why they are classics....they hold up very well today. You don't have this kind of great stuff on anymore.Price Is Right is still okay, and Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune are still pretty good, but it's not the same anymore.no need for such icons..im rather jealous
Agreed.Too glitzy,shallow,greed-oriented.Everything is too stressful, too competitive, supersize and corporate.Well, sometimes time doesn't bring progress. The older game shows just were more fun and involving...you had a good time watching and playing along.Thankfully we do have the Game Show Network to keep the classics alive for new generations to enjoy...maybe someday, programming will be made by those who grew up on the classics there.Old things can become new again!not at all... the new idea of a game show is something like deal or no deal..![]()
