Race is talked about more around here than sex or sexuality. Its quite amazing. I suppose growing up in diversity makes me somewhat oblivious to some of the things people question.

I just doubt because I'm from south east asia.
I always found that the most (80-90%) western people like dark/ tan asian people rather than white asian people in my country. I don't know why?

taxitaxi, I think everywhere in the world, the majority in any nation favors the majority. That is natural. But, as in Asia, America and everywhere else, many people are not bound by any one characteristic such as color or height or language.

its also funny that you refer to "white asians," which is of course very accurate yet very conflicting. In a couple centuries what you say will actually be reality.

Uhh, I think that blacks and whites are going to soon realize that the majority is Asian. And they are waking up (to follow Napolean's warning).

In the U.S., the majority is Caucasian or members of European descent.

In general, I find myself mostly attracted (in real life) to non-whites and that's pretty much always been the case. Black, Latino, Asian (including South-Asian) etc. Not sure why, and of course I've been very careful to try to avoid any issues of fetishizing and essentializing. But I can't help it, that's my attraction. Not that there aren't white guys and girls I've been attracted to (there are always exceptions) but in general it's been non-whites. And when there have been white people, they tend to be Italian.

Also, the man to whom I am betrothed is South Asian (Indian).

but why whites prefer, uh, darker-skinned Asians over lighter-skinned ones.

I think it's my case as well, but I don't know really why.

I'm not sure if that's always the case.

I'm an asian-australian and all you have to do is to log into gaydar or manhunt and you start seeing all these profiles with 'no asians' or 'sorry but not into asians, just the way it is' written all over.

Sometimes I do get frustrated because firstly, they're judging me without first getting to know me and secondly I have no say in my race, or sexuality for that matter but yet these two factors play such a huge role in how people perceive me

I've been on JUB nearly three years. And there are a couple of trends. The most popular trend is defending a gay guy who is hot but has a serious personality flaw (pedophile, substance abuse, etc.). And another, as in the case with this thread, is race talking and baiting.

I think the answer never changes in the case with the race issues. HANG OUT WITH MORE OPEN MINDED PEOPLE!
