Firstly this faux incident would never go to court.

It would be funny if it really went to court (tv court funny), but I only made the suggestion for the sake of argument. To be honest, when I first read the OP I did have an inkling that he was stretching the truth in some parts of his story. I don't really know Noiro though and I didn't bother looking through his post or blog history over this. So I just went with what he posted in this thread.

Secondly, it's called "closed circuit TV". You know..... stores have video cameras recording non-stop.

No, Lex is still among us. He last logged in March 3rd. He said in his last public posts in 2023 that he still comes here and checks in to chat with some of his old mates that are on no other social media in common.

He was one of our best contributors before he stopped.

I ate lunch with him and Hotdog1846 back around 20 years ago now, at Hamburger Mary's in Denver. I seem to remember visiting his record shop, but it may have been another.

It is so irritating the manner in which we have expurgated threads. If a member deletes, why can his posts not simply have his name removed? The words were said, and publicly. If he no longer wants to be identified on this forum, fair enough, but the discussion was had with those comments in sequence.

I was thinking of the collateral damage caused by a software update (I think it was about 2014) when posts belonging to deleted accounts vanished without trace, although they still appear in quotes.

That's exactly my understanding too. It was a bit of an issue at the time, but makes very little difference now. It's only when someone dredges up an old thread like this that anyone notices.
