  • Hi Guest - Did you know?

Why would someone want be be POZZED??

"Ian Young, in his article The AIDS Cult and Its Seroconverts, says that many HIV- men think 'HIV positives live richer, more complex, more 'authentic' lives, get more attention, are better able to take risks including, significantly, the 'risk of intimacy' and with such risk-taking, life can be meaningful and full.'"

I agree.

Keep them poison penises away!. I mean... I have the solution...If these poz people want to keep "steathing" other people into it...and it becomes a trend... I say that chemical castration be administered to HIV + people. No offense...no disrespect.

LOL, like that statement wouldn't offend or disrespect.

If someone is convicted of intentionally infecting someone with HIV (which is of course illegal) then sure, but to say that should be the case of "HIV+ people" as a group is retarded.

To be honest, after having a quick look at that "blog" i feel really sorry for that guy. For someone to want to be POZZED as it were, i think, has very deep rooted issues. Either with their self confidence or something else. To me it just screams broken person which is heartbreaking.

I say that chemical castration be administered to HIV + people. No offense...no disrespect. But If people are knowingly infecting people...It is (according to the most recent court cases, Attempted murder.)

If you're saying all HIV+ people should be chemically castrated for the actions of those who are doing this, I think I can safely say you're solidly in the insane camp. Not to worry though. If you are, you'd have plenty of company.

I know you said no offense and no disrespect. Well, no offense but fuck you.

As someone living in a city with one of the highest rates for HIV and other sexually transmitted disease -- the ads to be "pozzed" amaze me. I have volunteered at some of the local gay clinics and I think one of the misconceptions is that HIV/AIDS is "curable."

I remember when the concoction of drugs one had to take to live with HIV/AIDS would choke a horse. It was truly a smorgasborg of pills all with one focus and that was to prevent the onset of AIDS. With better and better pills and medication, the stigma of having HIV is lessened and made "tolerable." As Batman said -- a pill a night.

I have sat with many guys who are poz or just found out; I also have a number of friends that have become poz. For the most part, they were "eh" and not that upset when they found out. They have adjusted their lives, use condoms (shame they didn't before) and take the medication.

In the District, people who cannot afford HIV/AIDS medication are provided it free by the city. With all of the research going on at HHS, Johns Hopkins, NIH, and many other locations, there are promising things on the horizon. I have volunteered to test a new vaccine although they are having a problem because I'm two years outside their "window" that they prefer.

I believe we will see a vaccine and possibly even drugs that further minimize the affects. I won't go so far to say a cure because the HIV has a way of mutating and is now in so many forms and types.

My first boyfriend after I came out four years ago was poz. We had a very healthy sex life although he always feared topping me. It was why I got interested and helping in the service area.

There are several things that all gay men should do:

1. Get tested. Get tested every quarter. If you are in a relationship, make your first date to the clinic and both of you find out what not just your HIV status is -- but that you are free from everything else. Chalymidia and other treatable STD's are making comebacks in lots of parts of the country.

2. Condoms are cheaper than a lifetime of medication.

the entire concept is so heinous i can't reconcile in my head that anyone would want to willingly get involved in this.

It certainly seems like a waste of money spent on education and awareness. Not to mention a slap in the face of their loved ones. Who pays for their treatments and their hospital bills - taxayers? Ridiculous.

I agree.

My honest opinion? Let them all die and see how meaningful things are then. Honestly, this mentality has got to be the most colossally stupid mentality in the history of humankind.

Fuckwits.

I was once banned from a site for taking too "judgmental" an attitude towards barebacking. It was then that I knew a lot of gay men are just plain nuts.

Things like this continue to propagate the image of gay men as suicidal, deviants in the mainstream US. And for those who seek the bug and willingly give it away, that image might not be so far off. Thanks to them for giving the rest of us a bad name!
