Few thousand years is nothing in a species history. Most intelligent life therefor has been so much longer than we have and therefor is likely to have developed much further than we have.

A few thousand years is even closer to nothing, when compared to the billions of years old that many planets are. In that time frame, even ten MILLION years is trivial.

Considering the speed of changes just imagine what man and our societies will look like in 1.000 years, 100.000 years or a million years.

Well if we manage to live that long (which I think is likely if we manage to survive this century).

Now imagine those future humans traveling back to our time... who would win a battle?

Well I believe intelligent life will always have conflicts similar to ours. At least in the beginning.

That will depend a great deal on the sort of species they are. Consider an intelligent marsupial: they grow in litters, not as individuals, so every individual is going to be a member of set of "twins", or triplets, quadruplets, quintuplets... whatever. They'll automatically think in terms of being part of a group rather than as isolated individuals, and that will make their whole society entirely different.

I'd reverse that: you're the one who's scared -- scared to think for yourself, scared of the reality of uncertainty of knowledge, scared of the fact that even astronauts have their own opinions not based on actual evidence.

As for UFO's, as I often say, I find it very curious that aliens clever and advanced enough to build spaceships and travel across the stars to Earth, would then turn out to be so stupid and brainless to spend over 60 years doing nothing but flying around in our sky.
