...and now she thinks she's got us homosexuals pegged!

She thinks she knows everything about gay culture, and I suspect she sees us as amusing Sex and the City side characters.

What do I do?

Harke, I suggest you let her continue in her ignorance of thinking she has become an expert on us gays. No point wasting time trying to educate her otherwise. You could open yourself to her questioning how you know so much about gay life

I hate that show. If I were trapped in a room with Jack, I'd kill myself.

And it's not about him being femme and all. It's about the fact that he jumps around like a caricature of a 12-year-old girl instead of acting like a grown-ass woman.

Ok, hate Jack but not the show(I love all of the characters)...KAren and Rosario= Comedic Gold!!!!

I suspect she has a none too knowledgable gay coworker at the lawfirm where she works.

The problem is that I'm elbow deep into the Amsterdam leather scene, and that some far tamer things that talked about a few years ago deeply shocked my family.

I can't set her straight for fear of her running away screaming. (Which she has done before).

Ok, hate Jack but not the show(I love all of the characters)...KAren and Rosario= Comedic Gold!!!!

Like all succesful sitcoms, it has one funny joke every three episodes.

Will & Grace has done some great things, I won't dismiss that. (And generally hate sitcoms, so my "I hate that show!" comment is nothing huge.)

But I swear, the most annoying thing was how so many women were rushing to look for a gay friend the second that show became a hit. W&G has played in important role in my making sure I never have a fag hag in my life. Eff that nonsense.

I don't hate women, but there are currently none in my life that are not related to me.

I'd hang with lesbians, but at the moment I'm just too busy having sex with other males when I go out.

Give her a subscription to COC meetings for her birthday No seriously, she should meet more / other gay men.

How about, since she seems so interested in ' the ' gay scene, point her to a site like gay.nl (or some other dutch gay site). Let her see the news items and the reactions. I think that should give her a good idea of the average gay guy.

I love/hate that show. It's actually pretty well written, and I like all the characters. But at some point I couldn't help noticing that Grace had had about 5 boyfriends, and Will still hadn't had 1. That's when I stopped watching...

I love Will & Grace too. Eric McCormick is so handsome! The show was well written, especially in the first 4 seasons.

I liked the show but...

It was all over the place...one week good, the next unwatchable.

Some of the people you worked on it had worked on Mary Tyler Moore, Taxi, Cheers. I just felt it should have been better, somehow.

I've watched several episodes of ELLEN, and I know very little about lesbians. CSI shows don't make me a cop/detective either, and after hours of HGTV, I still cannot decorate.

Animal Planet did teach me how to fuck doggy style, and eat my own young though!

I still recall watching Will & Grace with my mother before she knew I was gay...

At one point, she mentioned that I reminded her of Will; when I asked her to explain, she stated that he too was scared of spiders.

Oh well...Yes, popular media does try and peg us down...But at least she's not watching Queer as Folk, and thinking you're a sex addicted maniac...
