I'm taking a guess here and saying that, despite the weird spelling, it's still pronounced 'William'?

I am William and prefer it to be pronounced as such. Not as some retched pop star.

Oh, and I can't stand Wiiyum either.

It's Wil+Liam and sounds just like it!

Rap artists do not use their real names or common names in the entertainment industry. Snoop Dog, 50 Cents, Eminem, etc. It's their branding. "Bob Smith" as a rap name just does not cut it.

Will.i.am is creative.

It's not just limited to Rap-Artists....Elton John and many other singers have changed their names....Actors have been using "Stage Names" since the begining of time...
