Sexuality is very taboo in India. In most indian movies, actors doesnt kiss each other.Kissing is considered very taboo in India.

When it comes to homosexuality in indian movies, india is years backwards. They are very late.Indian movies barely shows any gay caracters.Indian movies basically implies that everybody is straight.Indian movies are very heteronormative.

To make it worst, gay sex have been recriminalized in India a couple months ago.It was decriminalized for 4 years. But now,gay sex came back illegal in India once again.

Indians really needs to show gay caracters in movies.India is way behind. They needs to catch up with the rest of the world who are way ahead sexually.Indians are also those who have sex the least. Some research says that indians only have sex once or twice a month.Indians supposedly put marriage as a priority more than sex.India is possibly the country where marriage is the most important. Most indians seems to get married.

No gay caracters in indian movies kind of implies that no gay actors will come out.India have lots of gay actors. But,they are all in the closet.Gay indian actors will not come out anytime soon.Salman Khan is a very popular actor in india. He have been rumored to be gay since a long time ago.He could be a closet case.

The problem with homosexuality in india is that it progress way too slow.If in 10 years from now theres still no gay themed movies, its possibly because india will never have gay themed movies.

Are indians ready for mainstream gay themed movies?

Fair enough. But I do like all that pelvic thrusting when they dance.

We don't do that.

Oh for fuck's sake.

Maybe JQ can star in the first one? Asssuming he is Indian...or even gay....

The gay thing is no surprise, but didn't these people write the Kama Sutra for crying out loud? Sounds more like Bollywood trying to differentiate itself from Hollywood to me...

The first hurdle mainstream Indian cinema has to tackle is successfully marketing any topic seriously.

These scenes are the exceptions.Kissing in indian movies is really not the norm. Most indian actors doesnt kiss each other in indian movies.

I suppose if I've added a little balance to your claims that Indian actors don't kiss each other and that kissing is very taboo in backwards India, I can count the video a success.

Ever? Sure. Ever is a long time. The question is will there be gays as we know it by then.

There is no kissing in Bollywood films because kissing is considered sex.

Until it finds a way to incorporate marriage India won't have an Indian gay movement. Parents don't care about sex, only about lineage.

I don't know much about Bollywood, but this is one of my favorite Indian gay short films.....You Can't Curry Love

First of..are you Indian? So why do you care?

Secondly:
...Salman Khan is a very popular actor in india. He have been rumored to be gay since a long time ago.He could be a closet case.

I dont understand Jayqueer fascination with white men cause tbh, I'm just doing fine in India and might happily ever after

even if I hv to do so in closet..

I can see this is turning into another off-topic bashing thread.

Oh the irony.

But I guess if anyone can see a thread turning into an off-topic bashing thread about the cultural habits of brown people.....it would have to be Grimshaw.

JQ is a prisoner of the superstition that wealth is a sign of virility. Whites hold most of the wealth in the world, so he wants someone white; but not just anyone white, someone white and wealthy. At the same time, since he doesn't conceive of himself as attractive, he extends that to his "race".

Im not indian.Im canadian with italian descent.I care because its important.India should have gay themed movies. If not, india will go round and round and nothing will change.

I like indian movies.Movies from north india and south india as well.Indian movies are great. But,the lack of gay caracters in indian movies is very dissapointing.

A couple years ago,Dostana came out in theaters in india. It was a hit.Dostana is about 2 straight men pretending to be gay.Dostana is basically like an indian version of I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry. Its still not a gay themed movie.Because the main caracters are straight. This is the problem.Indians really needs to show real gay caracters. Not stereotypes.

You Can't Curry Love is not an bollywood indian movie. Its an american english movie.

Indians have to make gay themed movies. Its about time.
