I voted for cremation.

However, I don't wish to be displayed on a mantle--or the coffee table, for that matter. My plan is to be cremated and divided into small bottles to be distributed to the guests of my funeral. The idea being that each guest will spread my ashes where THEY remember us together, as opposed to having my ashes spread in one place by my family or a single friend. Kind of out there, I know. ^_^
 
Wrapped in a linen cloth then buried in an open field without a casket so that I can return to the earth.

I'm planning on being cryogenically frozen. As an atheist, death is death for me, but this way, dying isn't permanent. The thought of being brought back to life up to 1000 years into the future is really exciting.
 
Oh and for the record... gay men aren't allowed to donate blood. So I refuse to sign a donor card and have left explicit instructions that "if they won't take my blood when I'm alive they can lick me where I shit if they think they're getting my gizzard when I'm dead."

I'll be placed in the family cript....it's neither buried or cremated. My casket will be in view for everyone to see for eternity. They're not getting rid of me that easily. I myself had the masoleum built a few years ago, and had a seperate one built for my grandparents, and moved their remains there as well as an uncle who died when he was a child.

I think I would like my corpse to be launched out of a very large trebuchet.

I'm not sure at what target yet. I'll take suggestions.

I'd enjoy that as the fate for my remains, but I'd also rather see it than do it. Or more specifically, I'd rather have it done to my corpse after having lived long enough to see someone else have a go.

So I encourage you to consider it.
 
I like the Tibetan sky burial, but probably the best I can do is have Med students snickering over my scrawny frame and resting their soda in my mouth (I swear to you this has happened.) Unless I die in Tibet, it's medical research or education and then whatever. Compost would be ideal. Plant a tree.
