Will You Be Getting a Flu Shot This Year?

Received my annual flu shot yesterday.

Had one last week. :D

Have to return to Dr. Office this week to follow up on some other things. :(

Nothing major. BP a little too high, but we're working on that. :D

Shit I just catched the flu yesterday. Last time I got the vaccine was in fourth grade I believe. I typically get the temperature once a year and it's often a low grade one.

Haven't seen/read much about this this year. Have Flu shots fallen out of fashion?

Flu shots have been all over UK media this year
I won't have one. Last time I had one I was ill for 3 months with the flu!

He also recommended I get two others from the pharmacy, shingles and pneumococcal pneumonia. I haven't yet and may not.
I've gotten those, too.

I certainly don't want shingles. From all I understand, the pain is horrific...and it can disrupt sleep so terribly that resistance can be compromised against catching other illnesses.

My doctor's nurse asked last time I was there so I said yes. I know he recommends it. He also recommended I get two others from the pharmacy, shingles and pneumococcal pneumonia. I haven't yet and may not.

You should really look into both. Shingles is awful. My dad and grandma had terrible cases.

Ask rareboy had bad shingles is.

Had Shingles and you are correct.......you don't want it.
Although it manifests itself in many ways mine happened to be left center chest which wrapped around to my back.
The first month was painful but a combo of Tylox and Vicodin took care of that.
Tylox during the day and Vicodin at night as it makes me sleepy whereas Tylox does not.
At its worst the rash looked like strawberry Jello but it was the itching that was the worst.......
Thankfully I thought of Solarcaine Aloe Extra Gel with Lidocaine which was an enormous relief.
Even a year later I would feel the occasional twinge.
