I wont. I don't know much about him. I was surprised how beloved he is in Los Angeles. Im trying to think of what Vancouver celebrity would it be similiar to and I cant think of anyone. Maybe Michael J Fox because he lived in a Vancouver suburb (Burnaby)

I think its great that he is loved by so many people, but just as people had no interest in watching Michael Jackson's memorial (but I did), I have no plan to watch it. I'll take a peek at it but thats about it

No, sports hold very little interest for me.

Didn't know there was going to be one. Doubt it will be broadcast in the UK. Not interested in watching.

No, but I'm glad those that loved him can find meaning in a remembrance. It's an important stage in processing grief and dealing with death. Sometimes these high profile tragedies are the only times some people ever face death and attempt to deal with it.

I'm strongly against the deification of professional sports. It would seem obvious that the Romans' idea of placating the masses has propagated into modern times and has worked wonderfully.

Our culture and society are going down in flames but we are spending weeks more concerned about a statistically rare helicopter crash instead of the overt subversion of the democracy and the Constitution.

A pundit today made the comment that our elections are a sacrament. Hardly. If that is so, almost half the population declines to go down to the altar and take the cup.

But the NBA playoffs and the football games have true believers. That doesn't make sports evil or to be avoided, but it does show where our priorities have gone wrong.

But that's not Bryant's fault. He's due his accolades.

Cormac,
do you like any sports? Im not into team sports either.

But there is swimming, track and field, gymnastics, synchronized swimming (not a joke, Ive watched it), skiing, bobsled, luge!!! tight suits

Men's swimming and men's gymnastics.

It is a shame that he died in a helicopter crash, but nope.

I'd go ---I like basketball more than baseball or football---plus he was hot lol---oh and I don't believe the girl who accused him when he was young--but he was a good guy doing a lot of good---so of course he died meanwhile all sorts of political scum and sexual assaulters live on in this country.

No, I could care less, but I'm sorry for his death and that of his daughter. Very tragic.

While I find the deaths tragic there are approximately 7,452 deaths every day in the United States (from March, 2018).
Where are their accolades?....... :(

I didn't know that there was going to be a tribute, but I am not too much into sports, so, no I won't be watching it.

It's sad for his family that he and his daughter died. But I was just barely aware of him. So....no.

I heard the event would be streamed. I looked at the listings and there was nothing on there about it

^ A grown man is allowed to cry (why shouldn't he?), but maybe they were not so grown-up after all: the thought of a young man in his early forties, with all that vigour, and money, and looks, and fame, and global worship, and decades of teenage fun in front of him...
