Will You Be Watching The Vice Presidential Debate ?

It is scaring me. Pence is coming off as very presidential.

Kaine is being too aggressive I think.

Both are being rude and talking over each other and the mod.

Honestly though, this is part of the problem anyway, since the Moderators aren't allowed to really do anything to actually Moderate. So all it ends up being is two angry people yelling at each other. I lived in Philadelphia before, if I wanted to listen to that I could have just walked right outside my door.

I thought Pence won the debate - for himself only. He did very little to repair Trump's issues with the demographics he needs the most help with as Kaine's constant attacks on Trump went pretty much undefended. Kaine got his job done, IMO.

I'm guessing Pence/Haley 2020.

Wow. "That Mexican thing."

FARMVILLE, Va. — Near the end of Tuesday’s vice presidential debate, Mike Pence had had enough of Tim Kaine’s attacks on Donald Trump’s controversial comments about Mexican immigrants.

“When Donald Trump says women should be punished, or Mexicans are rapists and criminals, or John McCain isn’t a war hero, he is showing who he is,” Kaine said.

“Senator, you whipped out that Mexican thing again,” Pence said.

“There was clearly an audible gasp in the room when it happened,” Rep. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., the son of Mexican and Colombian immigrants, told Yahoo News in the spin room after the debate. “We’re not a ‘thing’ — we’re U.S. citizens.”

“You would never say ‘the black thing’ or ‘the Jewish thing’ but you somehow feel free to say that Mexican thing — that shows what your priorities would be for the Latino community,” he said.

The Twitter responses were delicious. Someone even compared it to Blazing Saddles!!

Yeah, Pence may have won the debate for himself but the Social Media wars will continue long into the night.

Kaine acted like an ass, people can fuck up their own message by the way that they deliver it.

Another question is: How will Trump react to not only being upstaged but also to kind of being tossed into the path of an oncoming train by Pence?

Kaine's strategy was the ideal....for it was not directed at Democrats...but focused on Republicans familiar with Trump's aggressive rhetoric. Pence was lost for words, with the momentum driven by Kaine. I look forward to HRC, and Kaine continuing with their much more assertive approach, reminding their audiences that Democrats are well able to raise the temperature of a debate, or speech requiring the Republicans to be mindful of their responsibility to do more than offer rambling one liners filled with emptiness.

Exactly right. Kaine was repeating things trump said in case the morons who are still undecided or living under a rock the past year didn't hear any of it.

I true liberal fashion, Kaine was rude, interupting 72 times. Does rudeness appeal to any but liberals? Or is it counterproductive?

You had no issue with Trump interrupting Hillary 51 times, I notice.

All the VP debates in history feel more like jokes, rather than anything we should be concerning ourselves with. Yes, VPs have had increasing influence over Presidents in recent years, but what determines how much is their relationship with the President, not how they debate the other VP canadidate.

Who cares about anything said at the VP debates? It's a useless exercise that we do solely because we technically elect Vice Presidents as well.

I agree that Kaine interrupted Pence more than he should have but I don't believe that "rudeness" is a trait exclusive to any one political party or social ideology.

Trump takes credit for Pence's performance:

HENDERSON, Nev. — Donald Trump took a victory lap Wednesday for his running mate Mike Pence’s debate performance and suggested he’s getting “a lot of credit” because he picked the Indiana governor to join him on the Republican presidential ticket.

Speaking to a few thousand people here in this key battleground state, the GOP nominee suggested that Pence scored the “single most decisive victory in the history of presidential debates.”

“Mike Pence won the debate, and I’m getting a lot of credit,” Trump declared.

More of his ego here: https://ca.news.yahoo.com/trump-boasts-of-vp-debate-im-getting-a-lot-of-credit-202011797.html

It's remarkable when people want to believe 'good manners' means saying please and thank-you when attacking immigrants, gays and poor people.

It most certainly is not.

Tim Kaine Interrupted Mike Pence 70 Times in Vice Presidential Debate

Kaine, Hillary Clinton's running mate, interrupted Pence a whopping 70 times last night, including 27 times in just the first 30 minutes. Pence interrupted Kaine a total of 40 times.

In comparison, Trump interrupted Clinton 39 times during their debate last week, versus only nine times for Clinton.

To be fair, Clinton played it smart. Let Trump hang himself. The man doesn't know when to shut up.

I don't know what Kaine sought to gain by taking on Trump's persona.

Tim Kaine's assertiveness represents a change in tactics by the Democratic Party that will question, and confront Trump's suitability as a candidate in the presidential contest.

Trump will crash and burn during Town Hall debates where ordinary folk will ask him questions without the tender, loving understanding of Sean Hannity to soothe Trump's egotistical narcissism. There will be Mexicans, oversized women, even Muslims in fact any demographic that Trump insults daily, will be there to remind him that their vote will also count.

It's long overdue that Trump is exposed for the imbecile that he is.

Suppose?

Yes, Mr. Homosexual, I interpret my bible to say that you're evil and therefore don't deserve the protection of our constitution (it was written for heteros only) so could you kindly stop asking for equal rights in the land of the free?

Pence scares me even more than Trump...for very different reasons....

I watched most of it now..and Pence comes across as a sleazebag liar...

I think if is funny how the polls said he was more Presidential...turn off the TV you fools.....you are blinded by his image and what he "appears to be"....

I prefer substance to image...and IMO Kaine wins hands down. I am glad he interrupted the liar.....
