Britney Spears has confirmed through her official website that she is to record and release a new album, and it will be in stores by the end of the year.

Through the site she said:

"I've been working so hard on this new album and I can't wait for you all to hear it and to go on tour again," She said, : "I would like to exclusively tell you that I am working hard to release the new album sometime later this year, but the date is of course not certain yet.

"I look forward to coming back this year bigger and better than ever, and to also reaching out to my fans on a more personal level.

"I know I've been far from perfect and the media has had a lot of fun exaggerating my every move, but I want you all to know that I love my fans so much and I appreciate everything you have done for me."

What amazing songs did she have? What makes her music awsome? Being serious cause I just don't get it. I don't see any ground breaking work being done by her or has already been done by her. I never bought a cd of hers before and won't start now.

Whatever you big bunch of queens, we all love it when a megastar falls from grace becomes tragic for a while then makes a comeback, Madonna, Mariah, blah blah every1 said that about them on here a few years ago then madonna has a huge album and mariah has the best selling of 2005 and the same will happen to britney and whitney, thats what make them Gay icons. You may see her in that group but I see a wanna be. How can you put her in that group? Britney is NOT a gay icon. She's a mess. Those others on the list were at least interesting.
