Attention Will you eat a food item if the seal is slightly open?

It depends if im in a pinch it smells and looks fine im using it if it looks off smells weird dump or get money back

Just thinking of how many foods we eat that are open and can be tampered with.

Breads. Produce. Loose nuts.

Not a chance and it goes in the trash if I realize it after I bought it. I am especially careful about bottle tops and checking if their seal is broken or not.

Bread was on my mind as I shopped earlier. I was sort of interested in getting French bread as a splurge for the holiday weekend. (Usually, I try to avoid white flour.) It's interesting how loosely packed it is--often just in an open paper bread bag. I also noticed bulk bagel bin at one store. I used to like those, but I now cringe a bit at the idea of a bin with who knows what happened earlier. As it turned out, I ended up getting a loaf of some other bread, partly because that other bread wasn't all white flour, partly because it looked so tempting sitting there on the shelf.

One sliced bread I get sometimes has the bread wrapped tightly in plastic. Then, that gets dumped into a bread bag. I hate the plastic waste--but I've thought that packaging is the best I've seen for protecting the integrity of the bread.

With produce, at least one can wash stuff. And a lot will get cooked, which kills germs. I remember my mother never bought produce that was prepacked, except potatoes. She liked to select each carrot personally, I guess.

Whenever you can whole wheat and whole grains is better. I have been eating every bad carb I can get my hands on. I just said fuck it and splurged. Now with the New Year I will take off 20 or more pounds. Right after this root beer float

Some of the best Italian bread by us is open sleeve package. Still hot out of the oven so good. With some butter I couldn't care less if it was injected with arsenic.

We sometimes do grocery home delivery. Sometimes pears have what looks to be bite Mark's and fingernail Mark's as well. I guess if someone was evil enough they could inject something into produce mostly undetected.

NJ banned the grocery plastic bags so now we have excess reusable bags coming out the wazoo. What's a wazoo?

I liked the plastic grocery bags for small scraps of smelly stuff like onions and garlic and fish or whatever so you dont stink up the house by using a large plastic bag.
