Will you still shop at Target?

Imagine the awkwardness of the haters having to explain how they now champion cancel culture when decrying it bitterly during the Dark Ages.

I was just there. The pride display was still up in the front of the store.

I’ve talked about it before, the Target I go to has to be managed by a gay guy. The only employees there are twinks 😂

And where is your local Target. Sounds like I should visit.

Target recently closed its store in Philadelphia's Gayborhood.
Not to panic. There are three other small-scale Target stores within a few miles (Rittenhouse Square, Broad & Washington, North 3rd St.) and big ones in South Philadelphia and City Line.

I like Target. But not that long ago, a JUBber from Minnesota, Target's home state, was avoiding them because they were donating to antigay Minnesota politicians like evil Michelle Bachmann.

Target sold their pharmacies to CVS several years ago. Almost every Target contains a CVS now, separately run. I often do CVS Target inventories and am doing one tomorrow in my hometown of Springfield, PA. Some former Target pharmacists miss the "old days" and regret the sale.

Maybe thats why those guys plotted against her maybe they were so far in the closet they were hitting Narnia!

It occurs to me that I aver from not only Target, but from retail stores in general. I'm not a fan of TJ Maxx, Kohl's, Wal-Mart, Target, and a string of others, because I buy so few things new. I don't go to the store to buy minor electronics, dishes, clothes, or media.

Other than grocer's and hardware, I buy second-hand. I do buy a few other things from Lowe's or Costco or a Dollar General, but not much.

It just never occurs to me to shop in a mall, or a major retail department store for household items.

Although I was an avid Ebay buyer when I lived in a small town, I never got on the Amazon train, and pretty much stopped using Ebay when so many sellers turned out to be Amazon sellers using Ebay. I liked it when it sold 2nd-hand items more than just being a front for online retail.

Ditto for streaming services. Cable should have lost their monopoly and price gouging, but all they did was split up to overcharge online, like Ma Bell did when forced to break up. The bill for television was supposed to go down as much purveyors competed. Instead, they have carved up the market and artificially manipulated pricing so that the average home pays much more today than it did when cable was new and rented boxes out. The rich get richer.

At Target at Soringfield Mall, PA, the Pride merchandise is prominently at the second-floor street entrance. I saw a toddler in a shopping cart who seemed to like the bright rainbow colors while passing the display.

it's getting downright scary out there

I can't help but wonder if some of these 'reports' are actually staged. Great publicity for Target, you know.

Target had Pride merchandise prominently on display last year, too.
I remember less outrage.

Seems easy enough for other stores to tell belligerent customers to leave. If they don't leave the store the manager can have them arrested for trespassing and removed in shackles.

I understand this happens frequently with drunks. Even at hospitals.

If so, it was a gross miscalculation. Their market capitalization downgraded 15 billion dollars.

Also, why is it hard to believe that conservatives are behind this.

Maybe some people also figured out a brilliant way to short the stock?

It has occurred to me that it would be interesting to know if some of the outrage doesn't get manipulated by people who know how to make a lot of money out of stupid people's outrage.

I try to avoid pride merch. How can you feel proud buying something that was produced by abused and exploited Asians for a few cents?

I tend not to buy it because it is not real support. Just a way to make money for most companies. I can say a lot I dislike about Disney as a company, but at least they have shown support year round for years. They could have did better, but they are miles ahead than most of the HRC 100% rated companies when it comes to products for sell and ads.

If you are going to support, support everywhere. Not just where it will make you a buck.

Gays aren't safe in the middle east. Do you want those companies to encourage gays to come out and get themselves abused and/or killed? A parade of gays that leads to an execution?

I think it's enough for the middle east to know/see that those companies do indeed support gays wherever they are able.

I haven't actually seen any of this stuff, but I suspect that it is typical tacky party crap that is stamped out and produced by machines with very little human involvement.

Seems like you are just trying to be negative.

That is the point. They are not showing the Middle East they support us.

Showing support is not forcing people to come out. All they did was not show support in an area they know would cost them money while showing support where they know it will make them money.

You think people in the middle east don't use the internet? You think they don't look around to see what the rest of the world is doing/approves of?

Many will see the cold logos displayed in their country and feel ashamed. Count on it.
