Wind Chimes.

I love wind chimes especially during a hot summer day. Just laying around in the shade with a nice glass of lemonade, the wind moves the wind chimes and makes soft, gentle noise. It's the right sound to make you fall asleep.

I don't like them either. Especially when you are
trying to sleep with the window open on a summer
night. shea

I love them :luv2: They are so relaxing ;)

I've concluded today that people who buy these, hate their neighbors.

Probably not all true but I agree with the idea. I may like windshimes for th moment but for the long haul. Actually I think that the very expensive ones are easier to like.....the sounds are not as anoying, but most people get the less expensive ones. By expensive I mean a couple of hundred dollars worth.

I absolutely love wind chimes (the metal ones)
AND
hate my neighbor
It's just a lucky coincidence

I have four sets of the huge "pipe organ" chimes hanging on my front porch. When they ring, they sound like bells. I live far away enough from other neighbors that no one's ever complained.

My favorite chimes are the old-fashioned glass chimes, which are extremely difficult to find - I guess, because they break so easily. I have one set made chimes made of beveled glass that I keep in my bedroom hanging from a shelf, since I don't trust hanging them outside.

Sorry Ned, I have to chime in here. Why have them if you are going to keep them in the Closet Or other secluded place?

Although, in the same thread I have to say...whenmy s/o s g-mother left her 100+ yr old chimes were gifted (and I use that word charitibly)the fucking noise makers. Yes, I HAVE EMNITY TOWARDS CHIMES. Anyway, the battle fought and chimes are at front entryway but my backyard deck pool spa and patios are sacrosanct.

HAH.. neighbor with wind up yapper (some kind of dust mop dog) fell in love with them. Bought some even less melodious, hung them in her gazebo (nearest me natch) and so from April through 1/2 of October I get to hear her, the dog and the chimes while enjoying the early evening delta breeze. BTW, true story.

I like wind chimes. They're nothing compared with my neighbour's banging and stamping the whole night long. And yeah, I hate my neighbour for that . I want to shoot their house with bazooka sometimes (too bad it's prohibited).

My mother used to hang one...in the living room :-({|= strange, I know. I asked her why she didn't hang in outdoors and her answers were: 1). they're noisy when they sound, and 2). there is too much dirt outside.

Seriously, why hand them if you don't want them to sound?
