very interesting (yet long to read) website/article:
Windows Vista includes an extensive reworking of core OS elements in order to provide content protection for so-called “premium content”, typically HD data from Blu-Ray and HD-DVD sources. Providing this protection incurs considerable costs in terms of system performance, system stability, technical support overhead, and hardware and software cost. These issues affect not only users of Vista but the entire PC industry, since the effects of the protection measures extend to cover all hardware and software that will ever come into contact with Vista, even if it's not used directly with Vista (for example hardware in a Macintosh computer or on a Linux server). This document analyses the cost involved in Vista's content protection, and the collateral damage that this incurs throughout the computer industry

As i've said before, Me is gonna wait at least until the end of the year or until they release a service pack before messing with Vista. My system does everything i want right now, and is 99% stable (watch, now that i said that something will completely f*ck up), and i'm just in a place where i don't want to fool with it right now and play Beta tester. ;) But you guys let me know how it is! I'm interested to see if the integrated DRM stuff is really annoying.

P.S.
While perusing the Best Buy ad this weekend, i notice Vista finally making it to retail, and as i'm looking at the Vista page with all the versions for sale, i notice this picture of a version of vista, clad in l33t all black packaging. So i'm like, i wonder what that's all about. And as i read the name, i see it's the Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Bill Gates Limited Numbered Signature Edition, signed by Billy himself, and all i could think to myself was, "You've got to be f*cking kidding me."

Ok, I just have one question:
How much is it being sold in the US?

It all depends on the version.

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic FULL VERSION - $191.99
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic UPGRADE VERSION- $98.99

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium FULL VERSION - $226.99
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium UPGRADE VERSION - $152.99

Microsoft Windows Vista Business FULL VERSION - $282.99
Microsoft Windows Vista Business UPGRADE VERSION - $191.99

Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate FULL VERSION - $378.99
Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate UPGRADE VERSION - $249.99

And the pièce de résistance:

Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Bill Gates Limited Numbered Signature Edition - $399.99
Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Bill Gates Limited Numbered Signature Upgrade Edition - $269.99

For the sake of comparision OSX is $129. or you can get a licence for 5 users for $199. And they are all the *full* version.
But we all know that Macs *are too expensive*#-o

50% win on every iPhone ;) need we say more? i believe nobody said that the SOFTWARE is too expensive ;)
