I was thinking about installing this new windows vista visual for my xp, but I do not know if it is really good, cause I have heard people saying it locks the computer and sometimes you have to reformat the hd.

WindowBlinds is produced by Stardock corporation, one of THE BEST computing companies in existance in my humble opinion. You can trust anything from them to be of top notch quality.

You may want to check out neowin.net/forum

There's a simple hack you can install (very easy to do) which allows you to change the theme, logon screen, etc without using a third party program. Free and legal. Best route to go when wanting to modify XP, as you simply have to double click an icon and everything is taken care of.

yeah, you can go for vista transformation pack. Its just superb

I don't like this xp aka vista or what ever. The vista UI is more then just black taskbar and transparent windows.

And btw Windowblinds has a really bad performance.

I use Aston, which is completely customizable once you do have the Vista shell. It's better than Vista in my opinion, which is just a half assed attempt to copy Apple.

I use to use StyleXP, even though you have to pay for it after the trial ends, though I easily got a key off the Internet. When I was on my old computer I would use StyleXP to make my computer look like a Mac then I used it to look like Windows Vista, now that I have Windows Vista the operating system I don't have to worry about using StyleXP.

Good luck on picking the best program, StyleXP didn't at all slow my computer down.
