If Bryan was so terrible why would Brent agree to work with him again? Wasn't Bryan the devil? JasonCurious is reporting that Bryan and Brent C. were seen hugging at some club called KRAVE. That sounds strange to me.

Re: Cobra Video's Bryan Kocis murdered yesterday
If your wear mittens while surfing the net you may be less tempted to spread your special magic. That would be a good thing.
It might help to know that Sean's first attorney, Chad Belville, who is the one that originally oversaw the reporting of the incident to authorities is also the attorney for a large percentage of the largest gay adult companies, and highly respected both within the industry and by other attorneys. As an officer of the court, he would be disbarred if he knowingly made false statements. Chad requested a copy of Sean's actual birth certificate before filing any charges just to double-verify Sean's actual age. He was, in fact, underage at the time the first four Cobra videos were made. (BTW, Sean's boyfriend is not an attorney and has not represented Sean in any professional way. He is Sean's business partner, and while I haven't read his posts here, I would guess that he is speaking in that capacity. )
Also, for the record, there is no copyright on a name. One can receive a trademark on a *character*, but only if that character does not refer exclusively to a living human. In the case of "Brent Corrigan", that trademark could only apply to Sean Lockhart, the person whose stage name is Brent Corrigan. As a result, a trademark cannot be legally granted. If you look at the Brent Corrigan trademark granted to Cobra, it falsely states that it does not reference any living individual. As such, the trademark was fraudulently received and could easily have been canceled. This issue has been litigated many times in the past and there is plenty of precedent for it. Wrestlers are a little bit different, because they are personas or characters that are clearly "larger than life", whereas a porn model is simply a performer adopting a stage name.
As for the FBI investigation... it was (and maybe still is) under investigation. The FBI often moves with glacial speed, particularly when there are more media-visible cases, such as the Justin Berry matter, taking the time of the one relatively small office, the Innocent Images division, that handles child porn. It is not uncommon for matters like this to take two, even three years before any criminal charges come to light.
Brent is no angel. He admits that what he did was wrong, and he realizes that it probably cost Cobra hundreds of thousands of dollars.
But it is true that a settlement had been made and recorded with the court. From my understanding, the settlement did involve Brent and associates co-marketing new video with Cobra, but I do not think it involved shooting new content in which Bryan would have been directly involved with Brent in shooting the content.
I have no way to know for sure, but if Brent had wanted Bryan dead, it would have logically been *before* a settlement had been reached and signed, not after. The settlement is still binding on Brent and co., even though Bryan is dead, because Bryan's estate can still enforce it. So the logical thing to do would have been to take Bryan out before a settlement, not after. And according to Brent's current attorney, Brent and his business partners were all in San Diego on the day of the murder.
Chad, a former prosecutor, pointed out that any former Cobra model, the boyfriend or angry parents of any former Cobra model, a crazed Brent Corrigan fan, or almost anyone else could have been responsible for Bryan's death.
That is not a correct statement. Sean was (and probably is) going to continue to develop his own website, brentcorriganonline.com, which may include live cam shows, but the shows were always planned to be done from San Diego, not Pennsylvania. The settlement with Bryan was a business arrangement, not rekindling of a romance.
I am as interested as anyone in seeing that justice is done in this case and whomever is responsible for Bryan's murder is brought to justice. I'm sure that with the national scrutiny the case is getting, both the local and State police as well as the FBI will stay on the case until it is solved.
In the meantime, I would suggest not dragging anyone's name through the mud until more facts emerge.
I'm not really intending to defend him per se, though it may come across that way. I have no way of knowing for sure that he was or was not involved directly or indirectly, though based on what I do know (and have stated already), I find it really unlikely, for the reasons I've already mentioned.
Sean's attorney was quoted in one of the news articles stating that he believed that Sean and Grant were in California at the time of the murder. I wasn't in San Diego, so I don't know for sure.
Even if true, that doesn't conclusively rule out somebody having been hired to make a professional hit, but the latest news reports (28 stab wounds, a wine bottle near the scene of the crime, no forced entry) seem to point more to it being someone that Bryan knew, and the act being a crime of passion rather than a professional hit.
I don't know details of the settlement, other than what I mentioned. However, the recording of the settlement (but not the details thereof) is part of public record with the court. I've been helping out with some technical and business issues on some of the projects that Sean and his partners are working on, and in the course of those discussions, have had a number of conversations with Sean and his partners about issues relating to the settlement. I haven't tried to reach Sean since the murder, simply because I know that everyone is trying to talk to him right now, and he is more than a little overwhelmed, but I have talked to one of Sean's business partners.
I don't want to be a source of information -- that role belongs to Sean and his business partners, and I'm sure they will make an announcement at an appropriate time -- but I do think that it's important that people not be making inflammatory speculation.

Not true. The 4 models came to Chad in confidence, and did not wish to go public. Because of lawyer/client confidentiality, Chad cannot reveal the names of those individuals. Unless Chad is lying, (again, an offense that would get him disbarred), or the models are lying (always possible), then this information is at least worthy of being investigated. That is why I said it was unsubstantiated. I do not know whether Chad went through the same verification process with the other 4 models that he did with Sean. Nonetheless, I'm sure that anyone purchasing Cobra's assets will want to independently verify all of the identification documents of all of the models, given the accusations.
I would be careful, as unless you have firsthand knowledge, the statement above could be considered libelous and defamatory.
This could definitely be true, as it would provide a strong bargaining chip for Sean; without proper age identification on file, Cobra cannot legally sell ANY content with Sean in it, because it would be a violation of 18 USC 2257. Never mind the fact Bryan was selling the content for 4 years without valid ID from Sean, and continues to sell the current (post-turning 18 ) content; if he does not have a valid ID on file for Sean, Bryan is (was) in violation of 2257.
Interestingly, assuming that Bryan really did not know or have reason to believe that Sean was underage prior to release of the content (which is in itself questionable), then Bryan did not commit a crime related to the 4 pulled titles until Sean revealed to him that he was underage. At that point, Bryan was obligated to pull the content until he could conclusively verify Sean's age. But he did not do this; instead, the content was pulled by Bryan's distributor at the point when the information was turned over to ASACP. My understanding is that Bryan, up to his death, did not acknowledge that Sean was, in fact, underage at the time the content was shot.
Once a producer has reason to believe that he might have content for which he does not have valid 2257 records, or content in which the performers might be underage, the producer MUST immediately pull that content. There is no provision in 2257 to allow a "verification period" or to wait on a model to provide evidence that s/he is or is not of a specific age.
Except that those titles cannot legally be sold, since they contain child pornography (i.e., Sean's underage content) and presumably the settlement of the court case would have included release of those claims against Sean. (I have no knowledge of this one way or another.)
Also, unless the 2257 records (model IDs) and model releases for the Cobra content were stored other than at Bryan's house, it is very possible the records were destroyed in the fire, rendering the content worthless and unsellable. (Which could be yet another motive for someone to want to kill Bryan and set his house on fire.)
I don't want to argue any of these points. Many are irrelevant, Bryan is not around any more to defend himself, Sean (most likely on advise of counsel) isn't talking, and in any case, all of the information will eventually come out in either audits of the 2257 records, the murder investigation, the FBI investigation (if one is, in fact, happening) and so forth.
Neither party is innocent. Sean lied about his age, costing Bryan hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost revenue. Bryan was convicted of sex with a minor and/or filming a minor having sex, and there are other accusations of Bryan having done similar things. So anything said by either party is not coming from the mouth of an angel.
Cadinot, I would suggest not responding to this message publicly. The police are in the process of getting Bryan's phone records, and are undoubtedly planning to contact everyone who spoke with him in the days before his death. They probably do not want this sort of detail discussed on a public message board.

Well to me this is just a little scary.
I have a feeling that the culprit could be a deranged fan of Brent's, and he did this to show his undying love for Brent. If you ever read his blog you can see that he has some pretty "devoted" fans. All the old posts that referred to Brian on his blog have all but been removed for the most part. Maybe it's just me but this seems to be the case. I have a bad feeling about this and I really think that Grant and Brent should be very careful when they are out and about. It seems from the reports on the case that Brian was getting more and more paranoid I think he was afraid for his life. And being in the business he was in he could have just been a sitting duck to a crazy pretending to be a model on a mission of revenge. Yeah I know this sound like a good plot to a movie (Art imitating life) but I just say all involved should be careful. All the info on the net is not that conclusive they have a picture of the guy who was supposed to meet with Bryan the night he died and he was a “rentboy”. WYOMING – Law-enforcement officials remain interested in talking to a Virginia Beach male escort whose photo surfaced in the investigation of last month’s murder of gay porn producer Bryan Charles Kocis.
Trooper Tom Kelly of the state police at Wyoming said he couldn’t confirm if the picture that investigators released last week is of the escort.
The man, who identified himself only as Harlow, told a reporter on Wednesday that the photo is of him, but denied any connection to Kocis. The escort said he was with a client for three hours in Virginia Beach on Jan. 24, the night Kocis was stabbed to death inside his Dallas Township home.
The Virginia State Corporation Commission lists a Harlow Cuadra as president of the Virginia Beach-based escort service Norfolk Companions Inc.
Last week, police released a photograph showing the head and shoulders of a person they said might have the last name of Drake.
The escort said he is the man in the photograph but said he does not use the name Drake.
The body of Kocis, 44, was recovered from his burning home. An autopsy showed Kocis died of multiple stab wounds and was dead before the blaze broke out.
After obtaining Kocis’ telephone records and e-mail accounts, police determined that Kocis sent an e-mail to an associate with photographs of Drake, stating he was meeting the man at his Midland Drive home at 7 p.m. to discuss a modeling job for Cobra Video. Kocis owned and operated Cobra Video, a company that produces and sells gay pornographic movies.
About 90 minutes after the scheduled meeting, firefighters responded to Kocis’ home for a fire, at about the same time a witness saw a light-colored sport utility vehicle back out of the driveway and speed away.
Harlow could not be reached for comment on Thursday.
