Women fetishizing man-on-man: Yay or Nay?

Str8 men have been into woman-on-woman for ages, and everybody treats it like it is to be expected, no big deal.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander!

I'm glad women who are into man-on-man porn are able to be vocal about it in our society.

More power to them, I say.

Now, I hear with gay tv shows, characters, etc. that straight women are a major part of that demographic, if not the majority. Didn't Queer as Folk have a huge straight female audience? And a lot of openly gay celebrities seem to have a majority straight female audience (which is interesting considering so many are told to stay in the closet to not upset the female demo).

I don't mind it. At least some women see gay men as more than just accessories to take shopping with them.

Wow, this topic was dug up from the grave?
I don't really understand where their sexual satisfaction comes from in this situation, but I'm male so maybe I'm not meant to.

It's kind of like the same type of sexual satisfaction that straight men get from watching girl-on-girl. That's why I find it strange when straight men get so confused about some chicks liking man-on-man action.

I find that generally women like the relationship between men more than the actual sex between them. Not that they find it gross, but that they're more into the emotional aspect and sex in-context. For example, I don't know that many women who watch gay porn, but I know a lot who are into "slash" (fictional couplings between male characters in books/shows/films).

And maybe "fetish" wasn't the right word for it. I meant that it's become a sort of fascination with the (to them) atypical.
Sounds great to me. The next step would be to get her to try some mmf with me

There needs to be more men like this.

I was once (at least) told that straight men imagine themselves there. I have not heard that as a reason women like it. Personally, I really just want to watch. If I were involved it wouldn't be gay male sex.

You may be right, but it doesn't apply to me (except that I prefer books to videos). I like the :sex: :gaysex:
Gay/bi men have been more likely than women to suggest I add more emotional relationship elements in my fiction. My slash-writing female friends ask for more sex. I'm actually at the point of trying to decide which audience I'm hoping to get.

"Fascination" is a good word, although I think I'm more obsessed. I'm glad you said "fetish" because it made me think.

Yeah, that's another point that I didn't make. Weirdly enough, I get off at "written" sex more than video porn. And no, I'm not into fluffy, buttery descriptions and stuff, but sex on always seems more exciting on paper than it is in action. Porn, any type really, seems somewhat repetitive to me. Plus, I get off on the fact that the guys are actually enjoying it, as opposed to faking enjoyment for money.

I was once (at least) told that straight men imagine themselves there. I have not heard that as a reason women like it. Personally, I really just want to watch. If I were involved it wouldn't be gay male sex.

For me, it's not that I imagine myself "in it," but that I imagine myself as one of the men. I've always been fascinated with the idea of fucking a guy as a top. It's not the same as women with strap-ons, since I'm not really into the whole "domination and humiliation" aspect of that genre (plus, most of the men in those scenes are all weak and pasty...I guess to emphasize their submissiveness, but that isn't really a turn on for me). Two men having sex have always seemed more "equal" to me, and therefore more refreshing.

I think this is a good and positive thing. The more women who love "boys love", the higher women acceptance of gay men.

This is a pretty good article on the subject (from Lambda Literary)

Straight Women/Gay Romance

From the end of the article:
[One interviewee] says her writers “use their vivid imaginations to describe any act and do whatever research they deem necessary.” She adds, “You don’t have to commit murder to write a good mystery.”

And this one, from a site that review male/male books (generally of the romance and erotic romance sort)
Do You Watch Gay Porn?
They also have some eye candy sections (e.g., Friday Guys).

straight men love Lesbian porn.

So i assumed straight women love gay porn ..

Sorry if I'm inappropriately resurrecting an old thread, but I think my recent post in my Thursday Thirteen thread might be of interest to people posting in this thread.

Thirteen reasons for my interest in gay porn

I think it's quite unlike the phenomenon of straight men watching woman-on-woman action.
