It is similar. It's as if they took Donna Troy's pants and Black Canary's jacket and choker and put it on Wonder Woman.

i got to thinking about cathy lee crosby's track suit...

It won't last. Did everyone read the story is her timeline was corrupted and she wasn't raised on the island? Once this writer is done or even before he will have to set thing back to the original suit and original timeline. I have collected Wonder Woman since the 70's. I only buy the trades now but may pick this up. After every artist run they have to put her suit back. Her suit had little tweaks through the years. Byrne changed it up and had to change it back. This will get her some publicity at least though the design could be better. I wonder how they change her timeline and not affect the whole DC universe? Is this Earth 1 or are we gonna find out we are on another earth? Dc comics put back the multiverse and there are many Wonder Woman's in many different situations and different outfits.

and even more. So this isn't a new thing. And like I said the Multiverse has been returned so this could be another world's Wonder Woman. When Lynda Carter did Wonder Woman the comic was set in the 70's which is considered Earth 1. When the series was set in the 40's the comic went to earth 2 which is set in the 40's and picked up the stories there. Than back to Earth 1 70's when she went to CBS. The two even met and had adventures together. DC just did a 4 part miniseries called Arena where Wonder Woman's were taken from several earth and forced to fight to the death to find the supreme Wonder woman fighter. So it won't surprise me if the writer one day says surprise we are not on Earth 1.

And here is the meeting of Earth 1 and Earth 2 Wonder Woman from issue 300 which was in the early 80's. It introduced Earth 2 Wonder Woman's daughter Lyta Trevor who becomes Fury. Dc is going outside the box again like it use to. I happen to like all the weird timelines and stories but I know some people do not. I really am a geek at heart, lol. I do know my Wonder Woman history!

Her typical uniform is better, its so iconic now, changing it just loses its essence

Where's her black lantern outfit?

Here you go. And here are the new action figures of it also that just came out. This makes me wonder why this new outfit is getting press since these two outfits came out within the year and it even changed her powers.

The original is better. The new costume would be okay without the jacket.

Take the jacket away and it'd be better. Right now she looks like a teenager.

Seeing the new outfit, I don't know whether I see Wonder Woman or Jessica Alba's Dark Angel --'

Boo.

And in distantly related news: Why is it perfectly alright to make a formerly white character black (General Fury), but if you were to make Storm a white girl in a new comic, everyone would flip their shit?

Small distinction: Nick Fury is still white in the regular Marvel universe. His counterpart in the Marvel Ultimate universe is modeled after Samuel L. Jackson, so it makes sense that he's the one they would choose for the films.

As far as Wonder Woman's new costume, I don't like it. I don't think it conveys her power at all, and it makes her look generic. While I'm not sold on her "bathing suit" costume anymore, at least it makes her stand out from others, which Wonder Woman should always do.

the tights and harness boots are pretty cool. the top and jacket is kind of ripping off the rogue of x-men.

not sure what I would have used instead...maybe a blue long sleeve top? with revealing cleavage no less..

I'm not fond of it. Hopefully it is only temporary (based on her history, it probably is). I don't mind the pants but I think they should be blue, not black, and have stars on the side. Red boots would add some colour.

The mainstream media publicity has been all over this. I was surprised to see this story on the TV national news last night, complete with footage of Lynda Carter.
