Words that you don't know the meaning until you google search

What does Mr. Cockroach mean? Mr. Cockroach means you are hopeless.

I'm going to bed now and will read you reply in the morning, if I can understand it.

You're really making yourself look stupid and childish with the constant attacks on Telstra and blubee. Since theirs are the only threads you reply to why don't you just leave and make yourself and everyone else happy?

In cooking terms,
why is "seasoning" mean salt ??

Salt is a type of seasoning when seasoning is used as a noun. Seasoning as a verb usually means to put spices on food. Or other things. I season basic sentences with descriptive words, like adjectives. It's just peppered all over.

Only occasionally look up a word to see what it means or look up a word to verify that I do know the meaning of the word. I look up a word to see how it is spelled correctly every other time I write.

No i watched cooking shows,
it means salt salt salt !!!
You may have watched cooking shows, but you didn't understand the basics they were trying to teach. Seasoning does NOT mean salt. Salt is just one of many different items that are used to season foods. Pepper is also a common item used to season foods. According to your thought process pepper would therefor be salt. :telstra:

the cooking judge said
"it lacks seasoning, just a bit of salt would be a perfect dish"

So the judge didn't mean salt ????????????????

The judge meant it needed something. Salt just happened to be one of many substances that could be used to season the food in question. As a method of seasoning food salt is quite simple. One can use many different seasonings. The food dish in question apparently didn't need much.

My problem is speaking and thinking in French all day. As it isn't my natural language I gradually forget English and become totally lost being unable to find the word that I need. Without Google I would be lost when writing mails to English friends.

I truly envy those that are able to converse in more than one language.

It's becoming the standard in Europe. Just yesterday I spoke to a German person in English.

As for the original topic, I hate Google and never use it. And never ever to search for words.

In the USA most people speak a type of english, even if one does learn a secondary language the opportunities to use would be few and far between and the use it or lose it rule seems to kick in.
Before google came along if someone used a word that I didn't know I would ask them what it meant or use a dictionary.
