Monday December 1, 2008 is World Aids Day!!!! It is important for us as a community to support this cause. Please find out where a rememberance service will be held and attend. I will be attending with my partner in Mobile Alabama.

It will be held @

The Government Plaza :-):-):-)
205 Government Street
Mobile Al

This is for remembering those who have lost the battle and ones who are fighting the battle. I have someone who is very close to me I am taking with me.

Remember you never know how safe you are!!!!!

It is real and everyone is at risk. No matter what you sexual orientation is. I hope this reaches many people and we can come together on this day!

Thank you for your time in reading this post
Post you local organizations here.

This is really sad. Here we are in 2008 and no one has posted or even commented on World Aids Day. I guess it is not important until u have to deal with it personally. I hope you guys never have to go through what I am seeing right now. This day is about awareness. This day is to remember the ones that have passed and the ones who are going through it now.

i remember who i lost everyday

i don't need a special day for it.

me too PreTTy PeTe. I think of my dead friends all the time. So many died at such young ages, and in such a terrible way. I miss them all.

this is a tearable thing AIDS i have lost to meny friends and a partner to this and i all so keep them in my hart every day

December 3, 1991 was the day that changed my life forever. On the 1st, My "interest" at the time and a group of my friends had gone to Wichita, KS for a viewing of the AIDS Quilt. James acted strangely the entire day.

On the 3rd, James and I went out on our first (and only) official date. He told he of his HIV status. Our relationship, while strongly one-sided, would last until his death on July 19, 1993.

Since I live in the middle of nowhere, I won't be attending any remembrance services. I will sit alone at home and remember the love of my life, along with the various friends I've lost over the years.

I was born in 1985, so I did not live through the epidemic's high point. But HIV/AIDS is, of course, still too relevant to be forgotten. A national newspaper here has some interviews with people with AIDS about the non-medical issues of living with HIV... social stigma, job loss, neg gay people basically running away as soon as they know... And I think those are issues that need to be brought to attention. People need to be more aware of the fact that having HIV does not mean that you got it from going to bareback sex parties twice a week.

(I'd type up a far larger and more coherent post, but my bus leaves in four minutes...)

Our local GLBT center is hosting a service at a church today... I was thinking of going...

I think it was slow to be replied to probably because you made the thread kinda specific to your town, and the only other response is to talk about our own local event - which I'm not going to due to a lack of transport, a lack of funds, a lack of free time, and a lack of knowing where it is.

I've got my ribbon, anyways.
