for a guy 30 years my junior? I sort of want to buy a (late) X-Mas gift for the son of a co-worker. He's 18, I'm 48. He's straighter than straight, knows I'm not and that isn't an issue. Yes he's hot, and no the possibility of anything happening is zero. I like him because he has always been kind too me which is very rare for somebody in my cirlce of people. He doesn't work there anymore but comes in on occasion. The gift would be something minor.

I would. So what if he is hot? You're giving him a gift because of the kindness he's shown you. That in itself is a wonderful thing. His being a hottie is just gravy. ;)

Not creepy at all. I think its a nice gesture and I say do it

if you were to shower him with expensive gifts like electronic equiptment and money and clothing.. that would be creepy.

giving him a card and something small would be nice.

Well, I am 18, and if I recieved a gift from you (or anyone..anyways).. I wouldn't feel "creeped" out. I'd really appriciate your kind thoughts!!

Go for it!

Cool ..| , would it be creepy if I bought your bum bum a gift? :D

Don’t do that! Never!!!!!
Trust me. For a straight man it’s soooooo disgusting to receive an unexpected gift from a gay man, especially when you are much older then him. He would feel dirty.

If you want to hail him, just say Merry Christmas, and without a slut intonation in your voice. This would be much better.

Bollocks - one year I bought all my straight mates an Xmas gift and their folks - they loved it but told me afterwards that I shouldn't have spent so much money giving them gifts as my freindship is all that's required.

(And yes, they all know I'm as gay as a bucket fo frogs)

A little note to tell someone you think they're special is what the season is all about.

how friendly are you with him, would you be buying him a present if he wasn't hot? thats what you need to be thinking about before you do it.

I bought my friends who are 27 and 29 years old, and they told me I didn't have to but I told them I had to make it up to them for all the things they've done for me through the past two years.

I see nothing wrong with giving a gift as long as it's minor as you say. Yes, it's the season to give and just shows a gesture of friendship.

It the giving season, giving someone a gift because they been nice to you is part of the reason for the season. so not creepy at all

giving him a huge gift in the middle of the year when its not his birthday, Creepy.

it's not creepy when he a friend

the world needs friendship, so I think its cool!

A small nice gift with the appropriate note i think sounds like a very nice idea.

For someone his age, it will have a lot of meaning reflecting on how he treats other people especially those older then himself.

I think it is a wonderful way of letting him know how mature he is.

Suggestion, us descretion with the card you use - something humorous like a Peanuts card. Then you can write your note.

The way to handle it would be to accompany the gift with a small handwritten card saying 'just to thank you for the kindness you've shown'. I wouldn't wait for him to call into work and risk embarrassing him by giving it to him in public; rather I'd give it to the co-worker to take home for him explaining that it's just a small thank you for their son's consideration towards you - by being open and above board you mitigate any creepy factor.
