As for the car thing, if a guy who knows something about cars is dumping one, he probably has a good reason. "Why are they selling it?" is always a good question to ask ourselves, but don't ask the seller directly, ask what the car was used for, who drove it, how long they have owned it, what repairs have been done, do they have receipts?

In the end you want to see if their story lines up, if they have contradicted themselves, if they get in next to you for a test drive and turn up the radio... walk away.
