It certainly wasn't "somebody called me a bad name". I'm presuming this guy thought he was really close to this woman, or at least that the woman had a very favorable impression of him...and then he found otherwise, and he was crushed.

Would I cry about it? Hell, I don't cry about ANYTHING, so I can't imagine this would be the one to set off the waterworks. But that's just it - we're different people. He might cry during every episode of Glee, for all we know.

No, but for whatever reason, it's also apparently the term that appears to hit the hardest. Is there a term (either specifically for males, or gender-neutral) that carries the same impact? "Dick" hardly has any weight anymore. "Faggot" would probably be seen as more of a homophobic term by the sender than anything else. I can't think of any, myself. It MIGHT be that he was offended that she "considered him a woman" but I'm guessing that's unlikely when it came from a self-professed fag hag.
