To answer the original question:

I've dated a girl before, it might have gotten serious...I may have been genuinely attracted and in love...but those days seem to be gone.

I no longer want to go any further down that road in fear of it being the wrong one and end up hurting a poor woman I actually like (why should I end up choosing the best woman and then hurting her "by accident"? for one reason or another). This may seem overly thoughtful and unselfish, but I assure, I just don't want to feel bad about myself...lol.
