Would you date your political opposite?

Probably would not. But it would depend on how conservative the person was. If they insisted on ignoring man's influence on the environment, NO WAY! If he had a self hate against gays, NO WAY! If he could not feel empathy for others, NO WAY!

I know a married couple that has been married for over 20 years that belong to the opposite political parties and they are both very active politically. They end up donating money to both parties. They found a way to make it work for them. I have no idea how they do it.

The thing is, someone's political beliefs are basically a mirror of who they are as a person. Conservatives are (by definition) stubborn, ignorant and close-minded, and those are not the type of people with whom I'd want to associate.

I believe versatility is the spice of life, whether it's sexual or political. Besides, why do we always have to agree on everything! I want someone who will challenge me, but who is also open minded enough to know that they don't always have the corner on truth either. I lean on the conservative side, but I am a social liberal and "YES" I would be open to dating someone who might have some different views than myself!

Although I'm committed to someone who relatively shares similar political beliefs as my own, I wouldn't have any problem with dating someone who had views that were on occasion to the left side of mine. Centexfarmer is one guy who comes to mine, that's if I was a free to frolic!

This relationship has always fascinated me. I'm sure they have other interest in common other than politics, but I generally agree Snap!

I think differences make a relationship interesting. Especially when you always have something to talk about.

My bestfriend always takes the most extreme views, and I get bored to tears when he repeats the same talking points over and over and over. But he's my bestfriend. Every now again, and come around to his way of thinking, and he does the same with me. It's pretty cool!



So yeah I could provided that the other guy was too extreme.
