dildo is the first thing that popped into mind from thread title. I'll eat anything. Except vanillin - tastes like A&D Ointment to me. ...and dildoes.

I'd give it a go at least'

But I don't eat "box" stuff, so I have no idea what my reaction would be.

Would it be close to that awful McRibb?

Isn't McDonald's already using it??

Sure why not. We already have some genetically engineered food today (ie: damn those are huge apples) so this is not much different.

Yes, I would. Next...I can't wait for dildos that feel and taste like real fleshy veiny cocks created from a laboratory.

I'd try it, too - but would it have the same TEXTURE as natural meat? Undeniably, texture is a major part of the eating experience as well. If the "mouthfeel" is more like meat would feel like if it was grown from finely-ground powder (or perhaps even a slimy feel) than from growing muscle, I'm not sure that I would like it.

That's a big drawback, I think - I doubt that the muscle texture can be perfected in the laboratory. Yet.

nah... a McNugget may be a few steps removed from the actual animal, but it still came from a living animal at the source (and then ground down, blended with additives, turned into a gel, and reformed into a "nugget")

Oh, well in that case get me a 20pc box

NOT

To answer your question, I'd only eat such a product if it was all I could afford. The U.S. government subsidizes corn and soy, which makes crap like corn syrup cheaper than real, healthier sugar.

They should be subsidizing fresh fruits and vegetables. Eventually, we'll all be force fed Soylent Green by the fuckers.
If you're too young to know what Soylent Green is, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070723/?ref_=sr_1

I don't think I would willingly, but who's to say that we haven't already been eating meat from a lab???

God no! I cant believe the amount of people saying they would eat it either! Yuk! I make a point to only buy organic, free range, grass fed or whatever else you want to call it meat. And I never eat McDonalds. I think a lot of people need to watch the documentary Food Inc and start being a little more conscious about where the food they consume comes from.

"McNuggets - now with extra beaks and feet!"

I would eat it. Soya when used as meat substitute can't be much different, I reckon.

I have always thought about this when I was a kid. Especially regarding fish. I love fish, but they have so much bones and I always ending up choking on them. If the lab can create meat, I think it would help make life a lot easier.

Not only would I eat it, but there are good arguments that we should eat it.

Quality's important, of course.

(And what is HoodedRat's response, HoodedRat?)
(And could this make pork kosher or halal? Could a Hindu eat a cow?)
