  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Would you eat one?

I have to say Reese's chocolate cups with that peanut butter filling is rather not to my taste. It's too salty for my palate and has a wierd waxy feeling that screams fake food. At least it's not the stinky vomit inducing Hersheys crap.

If it were possible to have the burger, I would try it, just to see if the flavour combo goes together, like cherries and almonds do, or chocolate and orange.

Me too. In-N-Out, which you won't be able to try anytime soon without some serious traveling, is by far the best chain-burger I've had.

I've got to agree about In-N-Out burgers! \:/

And, I'm bummed they're "restricted" to the West Coast. ](*,)

Did you know you can order the burger, and/or fries, "Animal Style"? (Not shown on the menu.)

That means they douse it with Thousand Island dressing, or some such "special" sauce. ..|

And, no, I'm not kidding about the term "Animal Style".

Sometime later, when tuna was the most obvious base, again, I remembered the peanuts, but didn't have any. SO ... I figured peanut butter would work. \:/

It didn't! :##: #-o

That makes sense. Peanuts would be an occasional crunch and taste. Peanut butter would flavour the entire casserole.

My friend went to the US and tried In-N-Out, and he said it was the best burger place that ever existed. Now I want to give it a try lol

Southerners drink Coke with peanuts floating in it... it seems odd, but it's very popular down there. Maybe it's the salty/sweet combination.

Me too. In-N-Out, which you won't be able to try anytime soon without some serious traveling, is by far the best chain-burger I've had. I like hamburgers to "speak on their own merits" and not drown them in condiments. My ideal way to eat a burger is with one slice of tomato, and some lettuce (lettuce is good for adding moisture, and irrelevant for the taste).

Sauteed mushrooms and/or onions (and, no, NOT raw onions...Gack!) are optional.

I don't really like hamburgers/fries too much....never have....but in the past year or so ..FIVE GUYS chain won me over.

I love that they are fresh ingredients...and the fries are cooked in peanut oil..yum...

I know they cost more...because they are worth it. I would rather pay more money for fresh decent food than a dollar for a McCrap burger...

In and Out used to be good. I like their company ethics BUT they changed the burgers some years back and that damn thousand island dressing is gag worthy....

I would never have guessed peanuts float in pop.

Mind you, I would have never put peanuts in a glass of pop either.

It's not entirely restricted to the West Coast (more specifically, mainly SOUTHERN California, up to Las Vegas, and I think I understand it in Phoenix too), because I also understand they're opening in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and spreading from there. Apparently they refuse to operate more than "an easy day trip" away from their meat centre, to assure freshest ingredients. I was told that they now have a second meat plant in Texas, which is why they're entering that market.

And, as for ANIMAL STYLE, Kyanimal is not kidding. Very true.

And TRUE it's not mentioned anywhere on the menu. That is rather weird.

Well, then, DON'T ORDER THEM ANIMAL STYLE! (I certainly don't - too much condiment working to disguise a good, simple hamburger.) Easy solution, haha.

I do need to try Five Guys, probably sooner than later. At least they're "more national" and I have more access to them.

Oh, and don't give me one of those skimpy fast food burgers...make it 8 oz. or fuhgeddaboudit.
I like those skimpy fast food hamburgers, as long as they're FRESH AND "HANDMADE" (or close to it), not the pre-formed shit used by the biggest chains. I really like the edges where some crispiness occurs; I definitely like the taste AND texture of food if it has some areas that are "almost burned."

I also like "your" big steakburgers...even though they don't generally have that crispiness, and they usually ask you "how" you want them cooked. (I do "medium well" on ground meat, and "medium" on regular steaks which haven't been in the grinder.)

Yes, I like BOTH...but, also, I consider them to be like different foods - sort of like the difference between eggs "over easy" and as an omelet with mushrooms and bacon.

That's not the taste that would make me barf, it's the taste of artery clotting.

The thing is...I rarely ate at In 'n Out anyway because I am not really a big fan of beef...or hamburgers...but In 'n Out was the best until Five Guys moved in...right across the street...and I can walk to either one of them...

I think it is ironic how much I like Five Guys when I don't even like hamburgers that much....but I think the fresh part is what makes them OK..they don't have any freezers to hold meat. It is all fresh and fresh food makes a difference for me. The other thing....the one I go to plays loud 70s rock music which is nice...not sure if they all do or not...
