Yes, I would feel violated, but it would depend somewhat on the circumstances. I did this once. I was housesitting for a friend for a couple of months. One day I went into their underwear drawer and smelled their underwear, like you would smell clean laundry. I put them back without doing anything to them. If I had a houseguest who ran out of clean underwear and I wasn't available to ask and they borrowed some of my underwear, I guess I wouldn't be too upset, but if I had a party and a guest I barely knew went through my personal things and borrowed some underwear and got them dirty, I would be upset and violated.

I am not sure violated is the right word...but it would give me the creeps and they wouldn't be my friend anymore.
