Would You Give Your Facebook Password To Your BF

I think he knows it. He's familiar with my posting and so on. The lyrics to that song go "I wanna feel you from the inside" and he did, and so did I. I'm not sure how much privacy we need around each other after that.

He has his own account and wants access to mine as well? No.

When I had a facebook account he had access...so did a couple of my friends and my niece for various reasons....

I had no concerns but that is probably due to the nature of my relationship with him and the others I mentioned. If I trust you...it is usually unconditionally and I don't question it much after that has been established. As a matter of fact..that was years ago now and this is the first thought I ever had about it after I gave it to them.

I've got nothing to hide (outside of some random ex-hookups messaging me and me either ignoring or declining their overtures), but no... I wouldn't give my passwords to anyone.

on the other hand, I'm logged into my FB account on my laptop all the time and my laptop isn't password protected, so if he really wanted to go into my facebook account to snoop around, there's nothing to stop him.

Everyone deserves privacy of thought. It's like your toothbrush. Does he really want to use your toothbrush? Is it ok with you for him to use your toothbrush?

You don't go through somebody's mail unless they give permission. Of course if you're the NSA then that's a different story.

You can share your fb of course. Nothing stops you. It depends on the context. If you want to share it because it's fun, go for it. But if you're sharing it because he has an ulterior motive because of trust issues, that's a totally different story.

I was paranoid of my boyfriend for a while and I read some of his Facebook messages. Truth be told, I'm ashamed of myself for doing that (but it wasn't completely my fault - my boyfriend broke some promises and led to the lack of trust from my part). However, I got over that and now I feel much better trusting him and not having to sneak up on his private life like that.

In hindsight, it was a very toxic thing to me and to the relationship. I'm glad I'm over that, so do not walk into the same pitfall that I did. However, my boyfriend is also very comfortable using his Facebook with my by his side - sometimes I peak but it's not the same as stalking behind his back. We made it clear that there is no secret between us, but that doesn't mean we have to share every bit of our private life to each other :-)

I'm adverse to social media like facebook and twitter.

Ever since my former work "hacked" a coworkers account via remote access on a company PC and then subsequently posted a message on their facebook saying they were fired, I have sworn off Facebook. Yes, that is all legal considering they were using facebook on a company PC and it is stated all in that fun lengthy contract which almost nobody reads. Reckon this was before smartphones blew up.

Anyway, I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt with regards to social media. If there are trust issues abound, I'll cut it off because I am honest to fault.

Yep, I like real friends more too. Somebody I can fuck for real, not just virtual

Don't really use Facebook. I don't see why a bf would want the password for that.
My ex knew my laptop and ATM passwords though.

I don't see any reason why he would want or need it. If he would ask me for it, it would puzzle me, and I'd want to know why he wants it. But if there is a practical reason - eg. I'm at a place without internet, but I need to check my fb messages really urgently, because I'm expecting an important message, so I call my bf and ask him if he could check it for me - then I would give him my password and not change it afterwards. I have nothing to hide.

First of all, thank you everyone who responded. It was great hearing your stories.

My current bf is in this maddening paranoia loop that you're talking about. He's convinced that I go on FB to chat up other guys. He's convinced that there's "someone else" I'm chatting with or seeing that's replacing him. There isn't. I mean, I have friends that I talk to from time to time, but so what?

I keep telling him there's no one else. He keeps calling me a liar. And unlike you he shows no shame in any of this. He seems to think that that's just what being in a relationship is. I think that's completely crazy. I'm nearly 28 years old. I don't have the time or energy to deal with stupid drama-filled games like that. I deserve better, me thinks.

Note to self: Add minimum age of 25 to gay apps. These kids are fucking insane.

You summed it up perfectly right there. I never understand the paranoid types. Why would you cheat using your official facebook account and not one of your fake ones? What about the hundreds of other sites you could use? The sauna? I feel if the trust isn't there, the relationship is over.

Personally, I would just because I would be worried that he might out me when I am not ready to come out of the closet.

Well, just an update my bf let me know this was all just a big joke he was making once he came back from Christmas vacation, so I guess that means we're still on. I told him DON'T do that shit again though. Makes you so look like non-boyfriend material.
