  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Would you go to movies, theater alone!

I really cant see why people wouldnt want to go alone, and be ashamed/embarresed/so shallow, to care if they're going alone.. so fuckin' what?! Everyone's there to do the same thing; watch the film, not judge people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The answer is still "SURE!!" I did, again, on Wednesday October 11, or Thursday the 12th - while traveling in Portland, Oregon - I noticed that AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH (Al Gore's movie about global warming) was showing. Something that's been a must-see for me for a while! I had seen a friend in Oregon City just a little earlier, but found out about the movie with less than half an hour to spare, so I didn't even TRY to call anybody.

This is an amazing movie, and anybody who cares about the future of our planet should try to see this. It doesn't tell you how to vote, but if you're in the U.S. and able to vote (well, I guess so - voting age and JUB eligibility are both 18), I think you know what to do.

im only 18 and have been to the movies on my own a few times , to tell you the truth it dosent bother me , i think its just taboo to go to the movies on your own , i always ask my mates if they wanna go but if not i go by myself , besides if people think its funny im by myself they can go ahead and laugh coz i dont give a flying f*ck what people think about me , im am there to enjoy myself lol

HEAR, HEAR!!! If somebody thinks it's weird that I'm there alone, so-f***ing-what?

Even if somebody looks askance on me being there alone, it's unlikely that I'll be perceived as a crook, a wanna-be-murderer, a greedy CEO, or harmful in any other way. I also don't think that people really notice, anyway.

Do it all the time....I like to do things alone..better than having to wait like a fool for people who are always late

I nearly always go alone. I have a monthly subscription card so I don't pay so can see any film I want and therefore often see films I wish I hadn't or see gems I wouldn't normally have considered. I often go on the way home from work which is great, see a movie and miss the rush hour.

I'm a fairly solitary creature anyway so I don't mind doing stuff alone. (be it cinema, restaurants, holidays, theatre)

I do also do these things with friends whenever possible, it just isn't always the case that we want to see the same things or at the same time.

As for worrying that people will stare at me watching a film alone then that's their problem. I'm not the one pissing people off by talking through a flick.
