I used to keep snakes (pythons and boas, mostly) way back in the 1970s. They are lovely to hold.

My little brother kept tarantulas, bird-eating spiders, preying mantis, etc. I held them, so I see no problem with holding a cockroach.

I had pet rats for years; they truly are amazing little animals. But sadly, their lives are very short and I found their early deaths far too upsetting. If they lived longer than a few years I would have a veritable army of ratties at this very moment. I would hold rats at any opportunity. They 'laugh' when you tickle them. They can learn their names, and come running to you when called. Everything about them is wonderful.

I encountered a few vaginas when I was fifteen mainly out of curiosity. But I've had no interest in them since then.

I would hold just about any animal, given the right conditions, with the exception of fatally venomous creatures that could kill you almost instantly if an accident occurred, like that colorful little octopus, or a Gaboon Viper, or a few of the more powerful scorpions, toad, or snails.

I used to pick up slugs and snails in the garden and throw them over a high hedge into the garden that backed on to mine. They had some obnoxious children who used to annoy my pussy cat and I enjoyed pelting them with gastropods while they were bouncing up and down on the trampoline. I don't pick them up with my bare hands any more because I was getting a lot of stomach upsets, probably from touching my face after handling them.
