  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Would you let your child curse?

No. I'm a firm believer in that old saying about if you have to curse then you're incapable of finding the right word to express yourself (or something like that).

It would let my child curse. They're just words. But, of course, I'd teach him or her to be polite above all and that would mean knowing when it is and is not proper to use bad language.

No. Not when they are children. After they'd become adults and developed their vocabulary, then I wouldn't mind.

I wouldn't encourage it, no, but I certainly wouldn't be strict about it. Words have as much impacts and meaning as you want them to have. If you want them to be demeaning and hurtful, then they will be, if you say them, or receive them. Kids should be taught that they aren't words for every situation, but to shun away from them would be silly.

Sometimes, you just need to scream and curse as loud as you fucking can in your room to make yourself feel better. Just like every word, they are an expression, and there is always an appropriate time for them, and an inappropriate time.

A few choice swear words here and there does the heart good. But people who constantly cuss, where every other word is "F" this or "F" that need to be put in a room, and we should get rid of the room!

Enough is enough and too much is too much. You see I cuss rarely in this forum. Less is more.

When the curses are like crap, suck, douche, etc., it's fine.

But when they start reciting sex terms and else, oh the kids are staying in their rooms until 18.

Fuck no, but I'd wash their little pieholes out with soap.
