I have to place myself in the situation posed by the question. As I understand it, you're saying that a hostile extraterrestrial force has taken over the entire earth, and is compelling humans to learn their language. If they intend to make us their slaves or drones with no quality of life, I would rather die.

Or maybe I'll rework the question to a more earthly situation.

For Americans: If Trump and the oligarchs successfully impose a brutal dictatorship, with the billionaires imposing an AI surveillance state, and making us their slaves with no quality of life, would you rather die or live in exile in a country in which you would have to learn their difficult language?

For non-Americans: Image a Trump-like dictator and the oligarchs of your country taking over, impose an AI surveillance state, and making you a slave with no quality of life, would you rather die or live in exile in a country in which you would have to learn their difficult language?
 
I'll go with exile. I've yet to visit a country in which I couldn't get by with only speaking English. My foreign language skills are non-existent.

my world (US) is ruled by an invasive dictator government, the new language is "fake news" I'm slowly learning the new language.

I'd probably rather have the stability of a monogamous relationship, but if we could swing it with an open relationship, without all the drama and jealousy, etc., that could potentially come from that, then why not?
