WOW everytime i see the trailer my eyes are frozen on the screen, it looks so epic, and i love history, was one of my best subjects. These movies rock, first in line please.

LOL

...................................

Gotta warn you about this movie...it features nothing you see in the trailer. All of those Wooly mammoths and what not are not in the movie. It is a "Romeo & Juliet" type of a love story, so do not be deceived!!!

^^^ that is what i wanted to say. in the trailer you see wooly mammoths, mastadons, sabre toothed cats, and even a dinosaur! and then you see pyramids!!!! and a tall building.

there was human civilization 10,000 years ago, but none of the creatures you see existed,

I'm one of those who could care less about the actual historical accuracy (which I'm assuming is their target audience)

But it looks cool & I like big animals LoL

I saw it last night, won't ruin anything, but it's one of those movies where you either love it or hate it.... ( i was a little disappointed... but we will talk about it this weekend after it comes out)

[I work in a movie theater so we get to see (some) movies before they are opened]

Without temptin ya to spoil it for others was it the script or actors disappointed ya ? cause personally the special effects would sell this flick to me 1000 times over ;)

LOVED IT.

The trailers made me believe it was about the actual time period and all its wonderousness but the movie like someone mentioned does not focus on 10,000 BC instead its an epic romance during the time.

The only part i didnt like was when the top of the pyramid fell everything looked very fake, so the CGI people slipped up during that scene but it didnt ruin it for me.

I almost cried when blue eyes got arrowed and almost cried again when mama gave her life again.

As a matter of fact it almost made me cry a few times.

The lead man is very attractive and so was the little guy that wanted to be a hunter.

I was a little disappointed that it wasnt actually about 10,000 BC though, because the trailers had me so excited, but for what it turned out to be it wasnt bad at all.

Yeah, the CGI was incredibly disappointing...but they always are in these kind of movies.

Yes.

Wow, well not really wow because from i first saw the trialer i knew it was gonna be huge and it is, 61 million dollars worldwide in the first week.

The lead hotties name is Steven Strait. I know some of you are hoping he really isnt strait, lol, get it straight/strait? LOL

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - "10,000 BC," a widely ridiculed prehistoric action movie boasting a menagerie of exotic beasts, trampled the competition at box offices around the world.

According to studio estimates issued on Sunday, the Warner Bros. Pictures release sold $61 million worth of tickets during its first weekend.

The North American contribution was $35.7 million from 3,410 theaters, an easy No. 1 ahead of fellow rookie "College Road Trip" with $14 million.

The North American opening was "right on target," said Dan Fellman, president of domestic theatrical distribution at the Time Warner Inc-owned studio. Pundits had expected an opening in the $30 million to $40 million range.

The film, which Fellman said cost "slightly north" of $100 million to make, was almost unanimously ripped by critics. USA Today described it as a "bombastic bore" and The New York Times as "sublimely dunderheaded."

Newcomer Steven Strait stars as a mammoth hunter who battles a horde of slave-traders. Gargantuan birds and saber-tooth tigers add to the intrigue. The film was directed by Roland Emmerich, the German auteur behind such hits as "Independence Day" and "The Day After Tomorrow."

"10,000 BC" also opened at No. 1 in 19 of 20 territories, picking up a total of $25.3 million. Top markets included Spain ($4.5 million) and Mexico ($3.8 million). It opens in Italy and the United Kingdom on Friday.

The Walt Disney Co broad comedy "College Road Trip," which also appalled critics, stars Martin Lawrence as the overprotective father of a college Freshmen played by Raven-Symone. The film played in 2,706 theaters across the United States and Canada.

Critics did love one new release but moviegoers were less enthused. The heist thriller "The Bank Job" opened at No. 5 with a modest $5.7 million from 1,603 theaters. The film, based on the 1971 robbery of a Lloyds bank in London, stars Jason Statham. It was released by Lionsgate, a unit of Lions Gate Entertainment Corp.

Last weekend's champion, "Semi-Pro," slid to No. 4 with $5.8 million. The comedy, which cost $57 million to make, has earned just $24.7 million after 10 days. Will Ferrell stars as the flamboyant owner of an underdog basketball team in the film, which was released by New Line Cinema, also a unit of Time Warner.

The assassination thriller "Vantage Point" slipped one place to No. 3 with $7.5 million. The film, released by Sony Corp's Columbia Pictures, has earned $51,7 million after three weeks.

Don't let reviews dictate what you should do. If you feel like watching that movie then go watch it.

EXCELLANT ADVICE. SO MANY OF THE CRITICS ARE FULL OF SHIT THESE DAYS.

THIS MOVIE HAS NOT TURNED ME ON, EXCEPT FOR THE ACTOR STEVEN STRAIT. HE COULD MAKE THE MOVIE EASY ON THE EYES...

i cant tell you how many times i have liked a movie that critcs have panned.

I wont name them because you might pan them too, but what matters is i liked it and didnt feel i got ripped off.

Obviously, guys should make up their own mind and one or two critics might be full of it.

But, www.rottentomatoes.com, in effect averages reviews out and over the last year or two I've found it pretty reliable especially if the percentage rating tell you most reviewers think it sucks. Just saves time.

My guess is that folk who ignore reviews end up watching many more bad movies that those who read them.

You'll be able to tell from next weeks fall off figure what people really thought of this film. From what I've heard, it won't be around very long.

All white?

I suggest you go and see the movie so that you don't appear stupid.
