Wow, Carrie Underwood Took A Huge Shit All Over This Season's AI Girls

I'm actually from Carrie's hometown/state, Tulsa, Oklahoma and I gotta admit that -- although she is indeed a good singer -- she's no singing phenomenon like Whitney Houston, Patti LaBelle, etc.

And to go back a little further than this season's 'American Idol' female finalists, Carrie no more deserved that Country Music Association award last fall over Martina McBride, Gretchen Wilson and especially Faith Hill. I think Hill had every right to raise a stink.

Young Underwood is getting way too many awards & recognition early in her career.

I think she's by far the most talented person to win American Idol so far. Kelly is good, but I don't think she has the same pure, natural vocal talent that Carrie obviously has. Ruben and Fantasia may as well have never won at all. To this day, I still believe that Diana DeGarmo deserved to win much more than Fantasia; she may have been young, but she had a great voice that could have taken her far. I think Simon may have been right when he predicted that Carrie would end up outselling all of the previous Idols. She's well on her way. Kelly obviously has a huge lead since she's already releasing her third album, but Carrie's debut has already outsold Kelly's debut. She's also releasing her sophomore album later this year.

I wouldn't say she made the girls this year look like jokes. It's still a little too early to tell how good anyone really is. Once they start the themes, that's when the bad people really start to get exposed.
 
Though she may be a talented vocalist, there are far better voices even in this season's AI. She is beautiful and arguably an amazing performer (though I wasn't impressed by her performance on AI), so as far as complete package goes I could see how you could say that she blew away the other girls.

Carrie has a good voice and fits well in the Country Music scene, but I thought her performance on AI last week was robotic. Melinda on this season is IMO the very best female singer to ever appear on the show. Carrie could never have done what Melinda did with My Funny Valentine. She just doesn't have the emotional depth.
 
I still think Tamyra should have won the first season. The final should have been her and Kelly, but Tamyra should have taken it. Justin Guarini was AWFUL.
Tamyra has probably my favorite voice out of everyone in the competitions history.

Having said that, to whoever started this thread, Carrie Underwood couldnt shit on Lakisha Jones or Melinda Doolittle if they were holding a toilet. Stop that nonsense.

Yes yes yes! Melinda all the way! I love her.

I do like Carrie, though. At first I was like, eh, whatever but now I've actually listened to some of her songs and I do think she fits into the country genre incredibly well.
 
I can't wait to see Melinda take on the 'Theme' weeks! I think she'll win over even her detractors...she's that good. All the winners have fit into a particular niche, and have been fairly successful. Carrie's VERY good at what she does. Good to see her doing so well.:D
 
I was waiting, and waiting, and waiting and still I didn't see anything mind-blowing there. Considering that performance, I say that Melinda or Lakisha could mop the floor with Carrie. Don't get me wrong, I have the Best of American Idol and know that Carrie can blow but that performance really wasn't anything special.
 
I dont know. I really dont like any of the females this season. It may also be because I have yet to watch any of them perform. I just remember their auditions. I didnt watch the girls night because Friday Night Lights was on at that time. Now that FNL is over I can watch more closely now. But I want Blake to win hands down.
 
Blake fuckin sucks. All the boys do. If Lakisha or Melinda dont win, the show should be canceled.

sunoftheskye, no offense, but either you weren't watching the show or you're tone def. Even though I really like Carrie, I can admit that Melinda, Lakisha and Jordin are better singers. Don't come on here saying she made them look like jokes, when it's apparent that she didn't.

I've yet to see any performances from Melinda, Jordin or Lakisha that is on Carrie's level.
 
You must have missed the entire season then. Lakisha's Audition was better than anything Carrie has ever done.
 
Completely disagree. I've always thought LaKisha was ridiculously overrated. The best females from this season IMO are Melinda and Jordin.
 
I'm soory, i love Carrie but there is NOTHING special about that performance. If I were to watch that performance and one from her season of AI, I would still think she was still in the compitition and loosing behind Melinda, Jordin and LaKisha.

She still has the same look the same sound and the same robotic stage presence as she did on AI. She's been off the show for 2 years, and has shown no maturity as a performer a musician or a vocalist.

Exactly. Altho Im not as sold on Jordin just yet, but Id still put her ahead of Carrie.
 
I wouldn't go as far as to say she made the other girls look like shit..but I do agree that it is the one of the better performances this year.

And for those who stated she hasn't changed as a performer, you must have your heads shoved up your asses!

You can clearly see a growth in her performance. She seems so much more comfortable on stage!
