WTF?! "The Golden Girls" are leaving Lifetime!

At first I was upset, but as long as they're SOMEWHERE on TV I'll be fine.

This is one of only a couple shows that never gets old to me.

I am so tired of Still Standing and Reba... I will NEVER tier of the Golden Girls, however. If they dare fill the GG slot with one of their absolutely horrid original series like Your Momma Don't Dance or Gay Straight or Taken, then I will never watch it again... except to watch Frasier and maybe Will and Grace when i feel like it...

What was the Golden Palace?

I saw most of the episodes of 'The Golden Palace' when lifetime was showing it a few years ago. It wasn't a terrible show, but it wasn't the same.

There was a two part episode where Dorothy came to visit, and that was pretty good.
And I still can't believe Don Cheadle and Cheech Marin were on 'The Golden Palace.' So out of place.

Another show I've never seen is 'Empty Nest.' After 'The Golden Palace' was cancelled after one season, Sophia became a cast member on that show, which had been running since the 80's. I would love to see those episodes.

I wish 'The Golden Palace' would be released on DVD, as well as 'Empty Nest.'

Nick at Nite is pure garbage nowadays. Fresh Prince, Home Improvement and George Lopez is all they show!

Well, I've got all the DVD sets (except for Season II, for some reason ... I must have lent it out to someone, hmm...)

Anyhoo, for me it's kinda strangely comforting just to have them all. Sometimes I just put in a disc and I feel better...

I've really never seen a show with such a brilliant group of writers. They kept that show fresh and hilarious from the very first episode to the very last.

The chemistry between the four ladies was unbeatable, too. It was like a perfectly balanced piece of magic, and without any one piece, it simply wouldn't have worked. Can you imagine the Girls without Rose? Without Blanche? Dorothy or Sophia? No way in hell! That's why "The Golden Palace" flopped, IMO.

So many classic episodes, too! The hurricane episodes... the episode with the condom skit... the episode with the "Lesbians of Miami" talk show... the Murder Mystery Weekend episode... the episode where they're all sick with the flu... the list goes on and on!

Thank God I have the DVD's of every season.

Oh my lord The Condom skit. Just thinking of that one makes me laugh till it hurts. That is truly a classic show. My mornings will not be the same without the girls
