What rock was I under when this was brought to light? The sad part is I can't even waste the effort typing out the question of whether or not this will hinder his chances as SCOTUS, if fifty-leven accusers hasn't deraied Trump's train and being banned from a mall didn't stop Moore from nearly becoming Govenor there's no reason that, if these claims are legit [personally I don't think that's a huge "if"] it would stop his confirmation. I can't even muster the hope that these accusations would be taken seriously, but I will allow myself to daydream that the sum of his most recent shenanigans gives us at least a fighting chance to nip this catastrophe in the bud [butt?]
 
There is a silver lining (however meager and thin it is) if he gets the nomination: even MORE Democratic anger, perhaps even enough to get Beto a win in Texas, and flip the Senate against appallingly-awful math, etc.

Of course a Senate role in anything involving impeachment (i. e. he would need to ALREADY be impeached and they'd be voting whether to convict) would also depend whether a Kavanaugh nomination would pre-emptively stop inquiries and the discovery phases cold, or what.

I must say your comments and cheekiness about a sexual assault investigation that isn't complete, by the way, reflect poorly of the conservative party's handling, or mishandilng, of sexual assault. There are so many examples I could cite that it doesn't even make sense, and each time you all expect us to believe that gangs of women are just randomly accusing men of things they didn't do to destroy their careers.

Mind you, I'm a black man, I know aaaaaaaall about false rape accusations, historically that was a powerful weapon against men of color and I've always been cognizant in situations where it's just me and another female because I know how that goes. At the same time, can you name one incident in history where multiple women trumped up false charges? Is that truly more plausible to you than a powerful man abusing his authority and forcing himself on women?

I must say, these attitudes of blind trust and faith in the accused and obnoxious scrutiny of the accusers is pretty fucking disgusting and is exactly why I am so hesitant to have a daughter. A man can break into her room, rape her, and the public attitude will be "What's this dumb bitch up to? Men don't just rape people she must be making it all up for attention." Times like these show people's true character, for better or worse and America's character in matters of sexual abuse and assault makes our moniker of "bestest country" deeply undeserved.
 
If Cosby could be investigated and held responsible for a sexual assault 35 years ago....shouldn't Kavanaugh?

Dear republicans, maybe it's time to start taking sexual assault accusations seriously, all of them, not just when the accused is a black actor or a democrat. I do recall the resounding chorus being "bury him under the jail" when Cosby's accusers came forward. But when it's a republican running for governor, or the president, or SCOTUS candidate suddenly women are all viscious liars who can't be trusted.

Yes, Drudge got it wrong, but I didn't. Dr. Christine Blasey Ford graduated from Stanford and teaches there AND at Palo Alto. Since her social media has been scrubbed clean, look down the line. Look at her Father and her brother. Where there's smoke there's fire.

And any amorous teenage boy in high school can hardly be compared to Bill Cosby, a powerful but convicted serial rapist who drugged his many victims over decades. Cosby will rot as he deserves.

So we're only going to prosecute guys with multiple victims? One-off rapists [or serial rapists with only one victim willing to come forward] get a free pass? :confused:
 
PS Mike her social media scrubbing could be due to the harassment and death threats, as is typical with sex crimes to bully victims into silence. And once again the right shows it's true ugly colors, I no longer refer to "alt" or "far" right because at this point anyone within the party who is not speaking against this abhorrent behavior is guilty by way of inaction.
