wuh oh... Kavanaugh is a #metoo

...If this were all orchestrated by dems trying to seat a dem justice the right would be ready to burn the white house down and the conspiracy videos alone would upend youtube's servers.
It would have been much easier if Kavanaugh could be connected with Benghazi... or Hillary's email server.

I'm usually not so naive, few things surprise me, but I am genuinely take aback by the response to these allegations. People defending Kavanaugh not because the believe he's innocent, but because they don't care if he's guilty as long as he's a republican. And some have deluded themselves into "knowing" that he's innocent for the same motivation. I would've thought sexual violence would be one of the few areas that's sacred in politics, where people would put party aside in pursuit of the truth. The fuck was I thinking? If this is where our government is headed, Babylon is truly falling. May have already fallen and we're all in purgatory? I think when the president mocks a potential rape victim to cheers and laughs that's definitely purgatory.

Paedophilia doesn't seem to be a concern, either. I won't mention any names, but is initials are 'R'oy 'M'oore.

This isn't much of a problem, either: https://www.justusboys.com/forum/th...ing-sex-with-the-menz-this-time-in-the-office

I must say, in general I find very little concern from the GOP about child trafficking, sex abuse and sex crimes. They were ready to tear Hillary limb from limb over an imaginary child sex ring, but are honoring Columbus just two doors down who operated an ACTUAL child sex ring. They went nuts when bathroom etiquette attempted to include trans considerations cuz "The children might get victimized," yet are silent when their fellow GOP members are busted in hotel rooms with underage prostitutes.

Follow the money. Watch donations to the Congressional Campaign Committees- particularly McConnell's PAC and Paul Ryan's PAC. There's threats that are made to pull money, then Congress passes some particular thing that some big donor wants and within days, millions show up in the Party's PACs.

If this were a real Congress, someone with a paper trail and lots of problems like Kavanaugh would never have been nominated because he would never get 60 votes. Because we have a Congress that works for its donors, not for the citizens it represents, we get someone's groomed favorite and the donor's nominee has to get through the process by hook or by crook... or the money stops flowing.

Both sides are guilty. And a big part of every Congressperson's job- Republican or Democrat- is to ensure that the money keeps coming in and that they don't lose their jobs or lose the majority.

P.S. And Santa Claus is your parents.

^ The fact that this was published in 2016 says a lot about everyone top to bottom. The fact that the domain is defunct is awfully sad too.

That ringing noise you're hearing in your ears is slot machines:

Adelson drops tens of millions more to save the GOP Congress [Politico]
Las Vegas casino mogul Sheldon Adelson is pumping tens of millions of dollars more into Republican Party coffers in an 11th-hour push to save their congressional majorities, according to two senior Republicans familiar with the donation.

The contributions were made to a pair of GOP super PACs tied to congressional Republicans, Senate Leadership Fund and Congressional Leadership Fund. They are expected to be reported in public filings with the Federal Election Commission by Oct. 15....

Even before his most recent contributions, the 85-year-old mogul and his wife Miriam had given $25 million to the Senate super PAC and $30 million to the House super PAC...."

Adelson, the founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Las Vegas Sands Corporation, is a Republican mega-donor and ardent supporter of Israel (remember that embassy move to Jerusalem?).

Estimates are that Adelson's companies will benefit from the tax cut bill that the Republicans passed in December by approximately $1.2 billion in 2018.

Kavanaugh was confirmed by the Senate Republicans on a party-line vote (without only 1 Democrat voting "yes") on Sunday. Adelson's donations were announced 4 days later.

^ Corporate donations should not be allowed. It certainly makes a democracy not a democracy. Corporations should not own the government and the government should not owe corporations.

Well, how about that? Kavanaugh has been completely exonerated. No proof what so ever, no creditable evidence and no creditable witnesses. Yet narry a peep on MSM, especially CNN. Man, President Trump is sooo right again.

You know who else was exonerated? Casey Anthony. OJ Simpson. It doesn't really prove anything that a rich, powerful, well-connected white man affiliated with the party currently running Washington was found not guilty. That just means it's Tuesday. If it were a dem judge/Dems running Washington this would be "proof that they don't hold each other accoutable for their sins and don't care about women."

....exonerated...not guilty...accoutable...
These words imply that there was an investigation and conviction.

To the contrary, Chuck Grassley has asked for criminal investigations of the women, not Kavanaugh.

It is easy to exonerate someone if you never investigate them.

Something that isn't made clear in this "exoneration"... I never heard anything from the Democratic members of that committee in this. I do agree(and Mikey may believe it or not) find credibility concerns with Michael Avenatti's "client" (Julie Swetnick) and another one as well with explosive claims...but Christine Ford and Deborah Ramirez I both found very credible. The Republicans on the committee, not only content with trying to attack that line, went after some of the witnesses regarding Brett Kavanaugh's drinking and partying and tried to whitewash this and make it look like he wasn't even a problem drinker...he drank some but just like other boys his age. I highly doubt the Dems on the committee would meekly let the this partisan, total whitewash of a report go uncriticized and unchallenged. Mikey, like he always does, goes for whatever seems to give his agenda a boost. Until I read that the Dems on the committee were totally on board with the result(and almost always, good investigations lead to similar unaninimity..or as close as possible)… pure partisanship should have no place regarding determination of facts. Is this a united report, or what?

This whole Kavanaugh and Trump thing with women takes the system decades in reverse, putting the victims on trial instead of the 'criminals'.

I think that's how many people felt. On one hand, it's not unusual for one accusation of sexual misconduct to uncover other incidents since abusers seldom just do it once. On the other hand, we've seen from the Jacob Wohl incident that false accusations have become a political sport in the poisonous environment in Washington.

The problem in the Kavanaugh case that other "judicial temperament" issues got lost in all the sensationalism over the sexual assault allegations - some of which were credible, others which were questionable (and we'll never know since no actual investigation was done). Kavanaugh has had a long-standing problem with alcohol- that's the common theme in many of the stories that came out and the behavior that he exhibited in the hearing.

McConnell didn't want this nomination. He knows that Kavanaugh has lied in hearings in the past. He knows that there's a trove of problematic documentation from his days in the White House. There's issues with his term on the Court of Appeals. And now, the stuff that came out in the hearing has sullied the impartiality of Courts and of the confirmation process.

Both sides burned a lot of political capital for a very flawed candidate. This is the price we're paying for having someone in the White House who is so unsuitable for the office- it's damaged the reputation of all three branches of government.
