wuh oh... Kavanaugh is a #metoo

As it now stands though, the findings of the committee pretty much exonerate Kavanaugh of everything, even minimizing his partying and drinking. Did the Dems on the committee sign off on the final result?

Kavanaugh was an awful choice...his misrepresentations and lies regarding his conduct during the Bush administration should have caused more waves and disqualified him, but they didn't. What we now have is a narrative by ultraconservative Republicans for a wronged man attempted to be slandered and brought down by liberal witch hunt, when this man is flawed as hell in reality. Maybe the Democrats should have pushed the narrative of his untruthfulness and partisanship... now what we have is likely a conservative court for years to come indifferent at best and openly hostile at worst to issues that affect many millions without the power and influence of right wing corporate and religious backers.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if there's a push to impeach Kavanaugh. The truth comes out eventually.
 
Who's going to actually remove him? Not this Republican Senate. Democrats have to have a positive agenda. They must hold the President accountable, and open hearings... but focus on the right battles. Push too hard on all fronts without having even the White House yet, and we may well say goodbye over our stewardship of the House all too quickly in 2020.

The foreground will still be one of contention. He is hateful with a Republican backdrop. God help us when he starts to deal with a Democratic one!

Historically, when something gets to the point of impeachment, they typically resign to avoid the embarrassment. Of course, that's history. These days we have all manner of Republicans (and a few Democrats) under indictment and staying in office until they get hauled off to prison.

But, we'll see what surfaces now that there's a new Sheriff in town.

Just out of interest, on a point of procedure, how exactly would he be impeached? By whom? The Congress?

How do you override the decision of the Senate, especially when they have only just voted him in, by majority?

And impeached on what charge? For sexually assaulting Christine Ford in 1982?

Surely you end up repeating exactly the same process that has just happened over and over again? That there is no legitimate grounds for impeachment, through lack of legally indictable evidence of him having committed the crime for which he is accused? Yet you can still somehow impeach, by simply declaring you have found 'truth'? And 'guilt'?

Do you not see any hint of McCarthyism is all of this? There is a disturbing level of single-minded fervency that this is STILL going on.

Is it going to be investigate, investigate, investigate, investigate, and then accuse, accuse, accuse, accuse, and that somehow if you investigate hard enough, and accuse hard enough, and shout and scream loud enough, that you can find this man guilty?

Justices can be impeached for “bad behavior.” It works the same way we would go about impeaching a president. House passes impeachment charge to the Senate for trial.

 
The FBI has fully investigated Kavanaugh several times over the years and have found nothing of the sort, but keep flinging it, maybe one day something might stick.

Those were employment investigations, not an investigation for sexual assault.

It's so easy to prove when you are wrong.

EDIT: By the way, there were 6 previous investigations. The one for sexual assault was #7.
 
One more thing, mikey. Those first 6 'investigations' weren't even investigations. They were background checks, which are not in the least uncommon for ALL people seeking employment:

^^It's not just potential employees who can have their backgrounds checked. Several years ago, at the Texas Architects Convention in Dallas, there was a tour through the Federal Reserve Bank building. All 40 or so of us on that tour had background checks undertaken before the convention and before we were even allowed into the building :D
