I have been living in fear for a year that Apple were going to discontinue the Mac Pro, their high-end workstations. But the rumor mills are fairly clear now that there'll be new Mac Pros announced on Monday. They'll probably feature Xeon E5 CPUs, providing 12 and 16 core options.
Also expected: iOS 6 preview, OS 10.8 Mountain Lion release (or at least a release date announcement), new MacBook Pros, and possibly new iMacs and MacBook Airs.
The good news is that I have at least 8 clients ready to buy new Mac Pros the moment they are announced - a dozen machines at least! That'll get me in the good books with my supplier.
The bad news is I need a new one for my home office myself, AND I need a new MacBook Pro. With all the third party extras like 16GB of RAM for the portable, 32GB of RAM for the Mac Pro, a SSD for both, and four 3TB internal drives for the Mac Pro, I'll probably be spending about $10K this month.
