WWYD with an unwanted Bloomingdale's gift card?

try and find someone that would buy it from me. give them a five or ten dollar break on it. you should be able to find someone that is willing to take that deal or try to trade it with someone that is in the same boat. that's a crappy position to be in. good luck.

Steven

Could you use it for Christmas or birthday gift buying? Your aunt probably meant well. It's probably hard to buy a gift for a relative who doesn't live nearby and is of a different generation and sex.

My aunt had nothing to do with it. It was a contest I entered last year.

Bloomingdale's sounds like John Lewis here, so I'm a little surprised you can find nothing that interests you on their web site. Could you buy something which might interest someone else and put it away until Christmas? If you're not going to spend the gift card your options would seem to be to give it away to family or a charity, or to do as Georgiadude suggests and try to sell it at maybe 90% of its value.

Well, congratulations.

Your mention of driving your aunt home just made that sound like a likely scenario. Often, older relatives buy us things we don't want or can use.

I can use the gift card, but I am fat and tall. They don't have my size, which is too bad. I would love a blazer. Besides that they only have some shaving products I would like, but I would feel silly spending that kind of money on that stuff.

Georgiadude's idea seems good, but I don't know if I know anyone with that kind of taste.

Have you tried Craiglist?............:eek::twisted:

Being serious, it has cost you nothing, it was not a personal gift from someone close. Splurge out and spoil yourself...(*8*)

I'm could use a new watch.....

It's your money. If you had the cash in hand and went into the store, you would buy the shaving products and think nothing of it. The clerk in the store wouldn't care what you spent your money on. The internet will care even less.

Go for it. Splurge a bit with something that you clearly earned by winning the contest. Don't feel silly. Feel pampered.

Not knowing how much your gift card is worth makes purchase advice difficult.

But I just visited their web site and if you can't find anything interesting to buy between the home and mens' sections then I have nothing to say.

Even if it is for just a few dollars you could order a few candles.

Ask for a gift basket full of goodies :drool:
