X-Men: Days of Future Past

[Slightly spoilerly]

Oh wow. Guess I'll be the one who breaks the trend here, but... I wasn't very impressed. Yeah, it was better than First Class, though that's not really hard to do. I didn't care for Mystique getting this major bump in the plot - her makeup looked wet and gross and Jennifer Lawrence sucks as Mystique (enjoy her in Hunger Games and other projects, just not this).

The only parts I REALLY enjoyed were the Present/Future X-Men (I'm so bored of the Past cast except Fassbender, he and McKellen make great Magnetos) and Pietro-- I'm sorry, "Peter's" kitchen scene. Everything else was pretty meh. And I wasn't happy with Hank "hulking out" into his beast form. Lame. But it's Bryan Singer so yeah. Loads better than Last Stand though.

the Rogue Cut is amazing! much better than theater cut.

the most beautiful moment of the Rogue Cut, you can see the school Past-Future b4 1973' Magneto went to get his helmet and 2023' Magneto/Iceman go to rescue Rogue.

I love having the rogue cut but I can see why Bryan had to cut a bit because it did interrupt the flow of the story.

I definitely preferred the Rogue Cut and I felt that the flow of it was surprisingly tighter than the original version, even with such a big side-swerve in the middle of the story. I thought having two jail-breaks in the one film might be a bit iffy, but I think it actually helped to open the world some more. One of my main problems with the original film was that I thought the future timeline came off as kind of superfluous, since the real stakes were back in the 70s - but a few slight changes in how the final battle was cut together brought much more impact to the struggle going on in the future. And ironically, I thought that bringing in Rogue to replace her actually made Kitty into a more well-rounded character than she had been originally.

The movie is just meh. Jackman is losing his touch as Wolverine and Berry as Storm is really not fitting the bill. I need for Storm to be regal and majestic.... Not some cheap thrill that talks like your average whore from the street. Jesus, at least improvise the voice or something. X-men movies for some reason just can't never be done right.
