Xian pride events should be banned!

Yes. Smartass pride events must be banned! Those smartasses are a threat to our children and our decent kind and caring earnest relationships! Burn them!

then maybe you need you change where you hang -- are you SA? Then start with Archbishop Tutu.

And all these lectures on what Christians need to do - get over yourselves. Christians do a lot and have been fighting these battles. Just because you are clueless to it doesn't mean it doesn't happen and isn't happening. You have to read the paper other than Britney Spears stories and drag queen news tidbits to know that. Oh, I am stereotyping? Yeah, how about that.

Do a little googling.

It took me a fraction of a second to find this about Chicago UCC congregations. Try checking where you live and see what you might find - although that means learning might happen.

typical christian. i just said that i have yet to meet one and you immediately go on a personal attack against me because i don't share your beliefs. i never said i wanted to be involved in christianity, so why must i go and do research? if there are so many good ones out there, why do i have to go looking for them? i don't look for the ones who have a problem with gay people, but i see them all the time.

you forget that we are not bound by law to believe in christianity, you cannot force it upon us. i don't believe in it, you do, you and i both have the right to do so.

A mirror, my friend, when you post. You attacked all Christians and get angry when a response is made? I doln't give a damn whether you give a damn about Christianity, but before you judge others, do the research, all I said. Let the media inform you and the image of gays and Christians is equally shallow and explotive. And thank God that freedom to believe or not believe is guarenteed us all. No one has forced a thing on you, nor will they. Thank God for freedom.

I will note that South Africa has a unique stand for gay rights in its constitution, thanks to Archbishop Tutu's influence.

Oh my.

Sorry I missed this fight.

While I get what Mattiemich is suggesting and I fully support him in it, I also have met many tolerant and supportive christians.

And I know the Bible very well and reconize that the Bible does not condemn homosexuality at all. In fact, it does not even speak about it at all.

Plus, I was a gay anglican for many years.

But I will add at christianity is a religon based on the premise that we as humans are flawed and imperfect. Therefore, it contains a large amount of intrinstic shame and guilt in the dogma. Not saying that those ideas are correctly chiristian, but they do exist.

spare me your bullshit. i never attacked all christians, i simply stated that i have NEVER met a christian who supports gay people. it is a fact. you are the one who started with insults about my intelligence and credibility, the one who got angry.

and as for the gay rights in this country, had christians had anything to do with it, there would have been NO amendment to the constitution. every single christian i know is up in arms about the civil union amendment. so who cares about archbishop tutu's stance, had other christians had a say we wouldn't even be having this conversation. you tell me i am not well informed, well, archbishop tutu says a lot of things, and the ruling government rarely takes notice. in fact, not to long ago, our president hinted that tutu is going a bit senile, because of his stance on how white people should be treated now that apartheid is long gone. so i doubt his stance had anything to do with the current situation.
